"Value for money option near central Takaka."

This is an excellent value for money option. It's an old school guesthouse with lots of character. Don't come expecting anything fancy - it's an old house - but it has loads of character and a lovely garden. The kitchens and bathrooms are all well equiped. The wifi is good (though a bit weaker in the courtyard rooms). If you go out the back gate it takes 2 minutes to walk to the main Takaka street. The owners are very accommodating about things like leaving gear while you hike. The Bacca bakery 2 minutes up the road is definately worth a visit - it's just by the supermarket.

The place is a bit old and tired but that's part of its character.

Great location, close to "town". Love the set up, two separate kitchen, ample of fridges, and a spacious outdoor area so not overly crowded. Comfortable bedding, clean. Would recommend.
