Deishaview Jungle Hostel

I was staying at this hostel, and while I usually don’t mind pets, this place has multiple cats that constantly jump into my bed several times a day. I first complained to reception, and the staff member simply changed my sheets—no apology, nothing. The next day, I went back, and while he apologized, he made it clear that there was nothing they could do and that I should just keep the doors closed. But this is a 16-bed dorm, so it’s obviously not my responsibility, and on top of that, I’ve seen the cat open the door itself (it’s a sliding door that moves easily). The day after, I asked to speak to the manager, who finally offered a “solution” (changing beds). Wow, took long enough! But after checking, there were no other beds available. So his final answer was: either leave or keep sleeping in dirty, cat hair-covered sheets. Bottom line: a hostel where cats sleep in the beds is just disgusting. Avoid if you care about hygiene.

Great hostel! The location is good but you should have a scooter as the hostel is on a hill. The beds are comfortable and you have enough privacy. We had an 8 bed dorm, everything was always very clean and tidy. The hostel offers many activities to socialize with others. The communal area is very pleasant and the prices at the hostel bar are quite ok. The breakfast that you can order at the bar is also delicious. I would come back again!

There is a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, it feels like home. The restaurant is reasonably priced and has a wonderful view.

No hot water and the toilet is not nice at all

Staff is really friendly! Girl who was volunteering and helped me to check in was lovely and she explained more things than it’s usual for other hostels hosts. Also it was really nice that she invited to yoga and concert. Also I love guys at the bar. They are really friendly and making great jokes creating chill and relax atmosphere. I enjoyed the view from restaurant, it’s actually amazing!

A bit harder to get on the hill but it was mentioned before so I cannot complain, I knew it. Also I knew that there will be cold shower. That’s not really good but I would still return to this hostel because of staff, activities, nice view, comfortable beds and also just general chill and nice atmosphere.

Daily acivities are cool. The views were great, common area was cool. I heard so many amazing things about this place, but it seems it has changed since. Cold showers - great for me but maybe not for others.

No place to escape the noise of others for meetings. Internet was ok but unstable which made meetings difficult. There’s one bar employee that always so grumpy its uncomfortable to be around, and awkward each time i ordered something. I dont like how they exploit the volunteers by over working them. Also really don’t like the curfew / closing of the common area from 1am. It was brought in whilst i was there and totally changes the vibe. Most of the people who work there need to smile more, apart from the two brothers.
