The 1964 Holiday bungalow

Located out of the city centre, yet accessible with a tuktuk or a bus. Nice room with private bathroom, amazing outside space with hammocks and such a beautiful view. You can also start hiking directly from there. The owners were super friendly and made very good food for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Beautiful spot in the middle of the hilly tea plantations, super peaceful away from the main strip in Ella. Very kind host and tasty Sri Lankan dinners!

Super nice host. Made very delicious breakfast each morning. They have a small restaurant just next to the Apartment. The view into the valley is gorgeous from 2 sides. Good opportunity to put the hammock between the trees on the other side of the upper street. I booked it to be alone and have my space without distortion. That worked out here. So if you do not have big claims for luxury I would definitely recommend this place.

Lovely hostel in the hills over Ella. The view was superb. Staff was incredible and helped us out with everything we needed. It has a great outdoor terrace. We had a great freshly made Sri Lankan breakfast. If you’re looking for a calm idyllic spot in the mountains this is for you! Thank you we’d come back anytime! ☺️☺️

You can rent motorbike there. The best sunset around ella is in this place, the food was also really good.

I wish I could rate it higher than 10. The place is located in a nice nature corner, overlooking hills covered with tea plantations. The owner absolutely goes out of his way to help you in every way imaginable. Food is great. Book right now, don't think twice!

Amazing location of the property in terms of the view. It is a bit far from Ella centre (1 hour+ walk and you can get a bus but they are very irregular!). It is close enough to nine arches bridge and little Adams peak if you enjoy walking (40 mins). The owner is lovely and helpful and he organised transport to the train station for us. He also helped us organise a bike. Little Luna the dog will greet you every time he sees you and walk you all the way to the main road.

Friendly staff Beautiful view Felt safe as a lone female Probably some nice opportunities to meet others but I only stayed one night Quiet location away from the noise of the town. I had transport else it would have been tricky to get into Ella.

My bed had a dip in the middle which became a bit uncomfortable. Walls are paper thin so I could hear people talking in other rooms. Even when my bathroom door was closed, I could hear people in a neighbouring room using their bathroom - bit gross hearing others use their toilet!
