"Perfect accommodation and location for our group of ladies celebrating a special birthday"

8.0

An Excellent location near public transport and lovely views over the harbour. Breakfast was a bonus, Choice of cereals, bread jams etc and tea and coffee. Very comfortable seating with lots of space. Good en suite facilities in the room (see below) with ample hot water and shower gel provided. Cold fresh water in plastic bottles a good idea

The floor in the shower was very slippery when wet which splashed onto the bathroom floor. Definitely a slip hazard particularly for children or elderly. A non slip mat perhaps? We used the hand towel!

"Not value for money"

3.0

First the good bit, location on edge of marina and view to wards Walkworth Castle very good Room Clean and spacious Good parking Kitchen on the First floor well equipped (fridge could have been cleaner)

This is a £180.20 per night family room When we arrived at the hotel there was no one on reception we rang door bell and eventually received an answer to be told a text had been sent to mobile with entrance code and instructions, no text, a receptionist did come and open up for us (text came much later) The room was very basic to say the least no bath towels (£2.00 extra) no tea or coffee making, no Radio or TV, no drinking water only bottled ( had to go up one floor to Kitchen for Tap water to refill Bottle) The patio area and seating was very dirty (bird poo on the seats) The shower room was modern and clean, however there was no temperature control for the wash basin or shower only auto operation at a set temperature Room heating set at reception if you require a change you have to ask reception (difficult when it is not manned full time!) All in all maybe O.K. For backpackers not at £180.20 per night

"Great for cyclists"

10.0

We were a group of 8 cyclists and support crew cycling from Amble to Edinburgh. The hotel had great bike storage and it's facilities were perfect for our needs.

"Really beautiful place but with a few niggles on this occasion"

4.0

The location is lovely and the overall concept is great. We really loved the large kitchen lounge room with beautiful views, this would be great for groups to socialise. The beds and sofas were very comfy and all clean and well maintained.

There were a couple of things that detracted from our overall experience, if these were resolved we would return. The rooms are ensuite and there was a big issue with the wash basin sensor tap, at night there wasn't enough running water to wash your hands or brush your teeth which is not ideal trying to get a family ready for bed. The electric car charger wasn't working, and when we asked about this we were told "ok we will try and re-start it tomorrow", which is naturally disappointing when you are only staying for one night and this is a facility you want to use.

"Some positives and could be a good option for groups but wouldn’t stay again"

6.0

Check in was efficient, room and common room modern. Bike storage

Hot, beds are enclosed and not long enough for tall people, water from bathroom tap is warm. Room light.

"Stylish, very high quality and beautifully equipped boutique hostel by the marina."

10.0

This boutique hostel is amazing. The building itself is nice and new in a development next to the marina with bunk rooms accessed from outside covered walkways. There is a laundry and a secure garage well equipped for bicycle storage with wall brackets, track pumps and a small workbench. The first floor kitchen and spacious common room is fantastic, really well equipped, immaculately clean, and with stylish furniture all in lovely condition.

Our only hitch was that we did not receive an email with the door codes and had to wait for a while after making a phone call. In the room my only observation is that the rungs on the bunk bed ladders are quite narrow for bare feet.

How clean it was and the fact there was milk, cereal and toast to use in the morning.

The beds were a little firm.
