Well managed, clean and comfortable small hostel in central Pahoa. I stayed in the 'Aqua' room for a couple of days and was very happy with my stay. Well equipped kitchen, shared bathrooms and eating area outside. All very clean and in good working order. Check-in and out is fully automated and worked very well. Central location, reasonably close to Hilo, Volcanoes NP and Mauna Kea. Central Pahoa has a bit of a New Age feel to it, with several restaurants, bars and stored in close walking distance (street was quiet at 10 pm latest). Supermarkets and other stores are just a few miles away. Fast WiFi. Street parking only, which is unrestricted at night, limited to 2 hours during the day. I did not have issues finding a parking spot, but that was a couple of hundred yards down the street. Happy to come back!

The communal patio was used by people not staying at the hostel. Not sure how they got in, but it was annoying that these people occupied limited seating space at dinner time and tended to be quite loud. Suggest addressing this issue.

It's kind of noisy at night. The shower water was not hot enough.

Very clean, cozy, highly recommended!
