Mufasa city Apartments

Ons appartement voor 6 personen bestond uit een kamer met een tweepersoonsbed en een kamer met twee stapelbedden ( wel hoog). Er was een hoekje met een waterkoker en 6 kopjes met thee en koffie, en een televisie met een bankje voor 2 personen. Prima badkamer met heet water. Het hele gebouw oogt nieuw en schoon en personeel heel vriendelijk. Op bestelling serveren ze een paar gerechten op het dakterras, hier kun je ook ontbijten. Het gebouw ligt aan een drukke doorgaande straat, maar weinig last van gehad.Wel geluidsoverlast ‘s nachts van een aangrenzend pand, maar weet niet of dat eenmalig was? Voor ons was de ligging functioneel, omdat we de volgende ochtend vanaf het busstation wilden vertrekken ( 20 a 25 minuten lopen, of kort ritje met bajaji.

1) Listing on Booking.com shows "Washer" as included facilities, that's why I booked this property and not other in town. After check-in, staff says there is a $2 Charge for using the Washer and additional $2 for dryer. The owner should change listing on Booking to "Washer - Extra Charge" 2) Hot water heater in Bathroom is very small, and Arusha is cold in August, you can wash ONLY your face with hot water coming out from the heater, the host should have a larger water heater 3) The host insists on paying for your stay direct to them and NOT pre-pay via Booking.com platform. The room rate is displayed in US$. During Check-in, the host expects you to pay exact amount in US$. if you want to pay in Tanzanian Shillings (local currency) there a 1.5% surcharge, as they look at US$ buying rate. If you don't have exact us$, and pay more, your change will be given back to you in US$ selling rate (1.5% less than official rate). To make life easier for the guests, the host should start accepting pre payment on Booking.com in US$ OR keep official exchange rate and not Overcharge the guests paying in local currency. 4) I paid for the breakfast but because of my early morning (7am) check-out, I couldn't try, as they start serving breakfast after 7:30

Good location to do the typical tourist things. Very clean rooms & staff were friendly.

Extremely limited seating for breakfast, unless you sit on the rooftop deck if it’s not too hot, cold, or windy.

Staff was great, amenities also, self-serving kitchen offers every basic (and additional) utencil(es) that one needs to prepare themselves a meal, location is great, safety great!

The prices during the week differ a lot from the prices over the weekend.

Room size was pretty compact, however it had a hall with the bar and tables so did not feel small. Stunning view of the Mount Meru ( if not cloudy). Loved the bed.

There was nothing specific that I did not like. Everything was pretty much in place. Lighting felt a bit low but that seem to be standard for Tanzania.
