Alocasia Inn - El Nido

I think the location is probably the best part

We stayed at this hostel in El Nido and had an awful experience. The moment we walked in, the rooms smelled rotten. It wasn’t just our room; our friends’ room was even worse. The toilet seat was broken, the doors wouldn’t close properly, and the door handles were of very poor quality. They don’t answer the phone or messages on the Booking.com app. We got stuck in our room due to the faulty door handles and had to ask our friends to get help from reception because they don’t answer the phone. While they eventually fixed the door handles, imagine if there was an emergency like an earthquake! Do not rely on their airport transfer service. We requested a van to San Vicente airport and had to follow up multiple times. The staff was clueless about the booking every time and didn’t communicate properly. The van ride was supposed to take 2 hours, but we ended up in Port Barton after nearly 4 hours. We had to organise another van to take us to the airport, which took another 2 hours and cost an additional 5000 PHP. When we tried to follow up for a refund for the 700 PHP original van, they finally picked up but no refund for the van and then blocked our number. Absolutely unacceptable service. On a positive note, they did refund us the one-day difference due to a typhoon affecting our arrival to El Nido.

We love the room, and the place around. Was so close the main street and with so many options of restaurants and local stores. I really had fun in there.

The location of the place is good. There are many options for cafes and restaurants. Close to the meeting point for the tours like 3 min walking.

The room wasn’t too clean. There wasn’t hand soap. Any amenities, only toilet paper.

Close to the busy area and beach

Had to pay for hot water, no toiletry kits given, flush was not working well, shower was good but no hot water

Dirty and stinky full of sand room, disgusting sheets, not worth the money even though it’s cheap. Room doesn’t get cleaned every day only if you ask for it and even then it doesn’t help. Sanitary warning, don’t go there!
