Hofang Guest House

The hotel is walking distance to Hefang Street and also near many restaurants. The man at the reception spoke good English. This hotel doesn't provide bottled water but they have a kettle in the room and also in the common area by reception.

Super helpful staff, who spoke great English and were very happy to help with absolutely anything. Excellent location in a pedestrianised and beautiful part of the city.

Like most places in China, the matresses are a little hard for westerners.

The service of a 5 star hotel for a great price. The receptionists are amazing , they even offer laundry pickup service! The facilities are old but well maintained. The location is spectacular, hands down the best location in town.

Many thanks again to him !!! - Simply the best location you can have in Hangzhou: in the old city, close to the metro and famous shopping street ; but in a very quiet area. - Everything was clean and convenient.

- Not the fault of the hotel: workers renovating a roof next to my room (very) early morning. I simply asked to change room after that and had no issue afterwards.

The location of the hostel is great. It is right in the centre of the old town, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and museums. The main train station is also close.

I only spent one night at the hostel instead of the four nights I had booked. That night, I barely slept. The humidity in the room was very high, and even the bed was damp - mattress, duvet, and pillow. This made sleeping almost impossible. It also smelled mouldy in the room. Cleanliness was generally an issue as well and the hostel doesn't even supply hand soap (not even upon request at the reception). To the credit of the hostel staff, they offered me to upgrade my room after I spent that horrible night. But expecting the mouldy smell everywhere, I rather checked out early.
