Lovely location. Isolated. Away from the crowds. Decent services.

It was a good stay with vista hostel. I feel comfortable. Food is good. Rooms are clean.Property is really silent with great view.

Everything here was completely overshadowed by the bad experience we had, however to be fair: the common areas, the view, the birds and the other staff were very nice.

We had a serious incident occur whilst at this hostel forcing us to leave 3 nights early. The walls of this place are a couple of mm thick so essentially just a screen. At about 10pm, from the room next door we heard extremely loud (full volume shouting, no effort to be quiet at all) the moans and grunts of a man masturbating. Immediately I shouted EW STOP in fright and I know they heard me because it stopped immediately. To my horror, about 5 minutes later it started again. My partner was now in the room and he brayed on the wall - it stopped for some time, so we thought we could sleep, but again it started the same 10 minutes later. This went on and on, we couldn’t block it out with earplugs or earphones it was that loud, even another person entered and more moaning and grunting and other disturbing noises. At one point I screamed PLEASE STOP but they wouldn’t and this went on until the very early hours of the morning (3am) just 2ft away from our bed - we had nowhere to go, we couldn’t escape and the fact that I know they heard us shouting and pleading they stop made it an act of violence. I was extremely upset and felt seriously violated and assaulted to be honest. We woke up and I told the host we were leaving and explained - this was where it got even worse. Shantanu didn’t handle the situation well at all; making us play detective, blaming other guests, saying it can’t have been from that room etc etc. Then after hours of this we find out the person in the next room was THE CHEF FROM THE HOSTEL! Plus the driver of some other guests. All morning until we left the host was trying to convince us to stay (as if we could be around this man who did this to us) and when he understood we wouldn’t, he tried to make us agree that we wouldn’t leave a bad review. No action was taken at all regarding what had happened - only damage limitation. Shantanu just kept minimising the experience laughing and smiling - he even said he wanted me to forgive the chef!
