Kingfisher Hostel

It's pretty well located, with many useful stores, restaurants and markets nearby. The host is such a gentleman and helped me with some tips. The bed is okay, with a private fan, as it's needed in the city. About the room, bathroom and kitchen, they're all okay, simple but useful facilities, worths the price.

Cheap hostel, and you get what you pay for, which is obviously fine if you're on a budget! The beds are quite large and each has a strong fan, which is great for the heat. I found the beds very comfortable, vut some people might find the matress too hard/thin. Host is very nice and helpful. Bicycles are available for rent to visit the ancient city. Large lockers available too.

The curtains don't go all around the bed. Cleanliness of the place could be better: the bathroom, but also under and around the bed. I accidentally dropped some clothes on the floor and was not so happy with the dirt on them.

I have traveled a lot in my life, but never met a host more kind than him! Offered to go to mihintale on his scooter, we had an amazing time. Also brought me to the busstation and when we were stuck in the night he came to pick us. He never charged anything l, just because he’s really kind with his heart on the good place! Felt like I stayed at a friends house :)

Nothing to like

It's a mess, what's there on net was opposite of what it was. Very dirty rooms, full of suffocation. Outright rejected the rooms and come out.

The guy running the place was so sound. Bunk beds were huge and had own working fan in each. Shower and kitchen were basic but well worth a stay.

The host is really kind and show me everything about sacred city, thanks to him I could visit everything in one day. He is friendly and does everything to make your trip comfortable

The best is Alba, the owner. He has been really helpful, giving information, tips about how do things, where to go...just amazing!! He even dropped me at the bus station. Thank you very much Alba!! If I come back Anuradhapura, I will be at your guest house again without any doubt!

Thilina the host and owner is the absolute best! He genuinely cares about all of his guests and wants to hang out with them. He gave me a ride to the train station and offered to show me around Anuradhapura for free. I had the best time and great memories staying here. To me it was like home. Double bed with a fan is also the perfect setup, I never got bit by mosquitoes and had the best sleep in all of Sri Lanka.
