Heron Island

Staff was fantastic! Marcus, Nadia, Andrew, Felipe, Nicola, Holly, Emory, the masseuse, Chloe, Lucas, Peter and the wonderful magnificent Steven all truly made our trip the best week ever. We thank them for their hospitality and going above and beyond to make our trip special.

The location is absolutely stunning. Crystal clear water with an abundance of marine life. So peaceful. The staff are so friendly and the food was outstanding.

The rooms are out of date, old and need renovations bad. The beds are hard and uncomfortable, our luvers were broken so could not get darkness in our room, the shower head was broken and what I thought was most uncomfortable is that no room has locks! So your rooms are completely not secure for strangers to walk in if they want. A kids playground would be perfect somewhere near the bar. For the price, I think WiFi should be complementary.

The location ie Heron Island was the only redeeming feature for this resort. The staff were generally very nice but were just spinning lines about the terrible food that we heard 5 years ago when we last visited this resort. Marine Centre staff and reception staff were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.

Everything. The resort is old and run down - the rooms need a good clean - just because there is no other option should not mean you don't do any maintenance on the property - the walls in the room had dirty marks all over them - i used a bath towel to clean the walls myself as I could not stand it. The shower screen was all mouldy - health hazard!! The cleaners did NOTHING - they did not clean the bathroom or floors for the 14 days we were there - there was a list of what would be done every 3 days but it was NOT DONE - even when I was in the room when they came and asked them to do what was on the list on the wall in the bathroom. The handrails to the upstairs rooms and on the balconies have not been wiped for months - filthy dirty - I would think this would be done at least daily and when rooms are cleaned but apparently not. Health hazard. Spiders' webs in the rooms and in the common areas. The fans in the rooms and the bar area were absolutely disgustingly filthy - that filth was being distributed over the areas when fans were operating. The food in the restaurant was inedible most of the time - Breakfast was OK but very expensive for what was provided - Dinner was inedible - they served a sirloin steak that was 1/3 RAW - not even cooked. Other dishes were over salted or just bland and tasteless - they even managed to serve a Ham and Pineapple Pizza that had no flavour at all. We ate 4 and 20 pies and sausage rolls from the bar as they were sealed and the resort could not destroy them. However, you had to get in quick because the bar ran out of food before lunch most days - probably because no one wanted to eat in the restaurant The grounds were in poor condition - pathways very uneven and trip hazards - especially after dark. Rotting vegetation in the garden beds, Decking timber was very uneven and hard to walk on as it was all warped from lack of attention.

Loved its location, the accommodation was good, food that we had was good. We especially loved the snorkelling - beautiful sea creatures everywhere and clean clear water.

L ile est vraiment magnifique c’est un paradis. Le staff est sympas et aide a voir des tortues en saison. Les bungalows sont biens et minimalistes mais ça suffit pour passer les nuits

Le trajet en bateau est difficile, nous étions malade alors que nous le sommes jamais. La nourriture est chère et pas super, ça nageur de qualité et de diversité. Le petit dej est bon par contre, mais a 35aud. C’est dommage qu il n y ait pas mieux au niveau restauration

Prachtig eiland en prima kamers! Alles goed geregeld en de activiteiten zijn ook tof.

Restaurant is niet top. Weinig variatie en kunt natuurlijk maar bij 1 restaurant eten. Ook de kwaliteit kan echt beter. Dat weerhoud me wel om er langer dan 2 a 3 nachten te verblijven. Voor die dagen is het prima.
