Sylvia Hotel & Resort Komodo

Location would of been okay unfortunately beach and water were dirty.

The rooms were filthy. Never in our all trips to Indonesia have we stayed in such filthy accommodation and unkempt grounds, even in extremely cheap accommodation. Most importantly the staff didn’t see the problem. There was food stuck to walls, yellow stains over sheets and doonas and disgusting bathrooms which stunk, after moving rooms 3 times the safe and phone did not work. Photos are from Deluxe Beachfront room 1, 2 and 3. 3 Managers came down with blank expressions and I showed them with a towel and shampoo how easy it was clean off the filth. Restaurant was terrible, with very average breakfast, the Mie goreng they used processed chicken meat a first for us and cook did not know how to poach an egg at breakfast, to which the head waiter apologised and replaced with fried eggs.

Nice hotel "in the middle of the nowhere" from Labuan Badjo - you have to grab a taxi (100kIDR one way) each time you want to go to town/harbor etc. There is nothing around the hotel - you cannot walk anywhere from the hotel and you have to take it in mind We've stayed in the villa and the room was nice, we've got extra bed for the kid and still had space in the room. There is a small reef close to the beach so you can see some coral fish. They have electricity generator so in case of a heavy rain you will still have light, which is great

Taking into account that you are "locked" in the hotel the menu in the restorant is quite short - you will eat nasi goreng / mie goreng for lunch and dinner during all your stay The beach might be full of plastic garbage and the hotel people care more about leaves that about plastic (with is terrible and disgusting, your kids will play in the plastic) One pool suddenly was closed for a week wich was not convinient Unfortunately there is no massage service in the hoel with is surprising for asia hotel (especially far from the town) You dont' have electic outlets in the toom - one for the fridge and one for the TV and all your phones and laptops will stay hungry The WIFI is not really super - sometimes it worked outside of the villa, sometime inside, if you need to work more stable connection will be with Telkomsell (possible to buy in town)

Needs upgrade more maintenance ,pool water was cloudy, restaurant below par for service and amenities. Fridge and aircon only operated while in the room
