Uma Kalai

This was my second time staying at Uma Kalai and I wasn’t disappointed. They get everything right! The service is 10/10; Eka and the staff go out of their way to make sure you’re having the experience you want, without being overbearing. The rooms/villas are beautiful, comfortable and well designed. From breakfast to dinner- everything the restaurant produces is excellent. I’ll be back (again!).

It’s a cute, cozy boutique hotel with a few suites making it very private and quiet. The room has everything you need, they have their own personal care products that smell amazing, I especially loved their lotion! They also have a natural insect repellent spray. The service is spectacular, a BIG thank you to Gusti, Ade, and the ladies at the spa, Nuni and Yoni (not sure about the spelling) for the wonderful massage 🤍 Food is amazing, very generous portions even at breakfast, all their bread options are gluten free. We loved Uma Kalai!

Beautiful property. Gardens are stunning as are the views. The staff look after you at a completely different level. Everyone knows your name. Everyone wants to help out. No details are overlooked. Fantastic food served that can be adapted to whatever you want. Like having a private kitchen and chef.

Five star hotel in Boutique environment

Our experience was just perfect from the beginning therefore from the moment we booked. Ms Nana and Ms. Eka the managers wrote to us in order to ask us if we need any assistance or any help for our trip to Bali. We received as well a villa upgrade that we have appreciated so much. We felt warmly welcomed at our arrival by Nana that was expecting us with a delicious ginger tea. During our stay we felt as we were in our friend’ s home, as this boutique hotel is composed only by 6 wonderful villas. In fact, it is not crowded at all, and the staff was super sincerely friendly, super available for any need. And the hotel view.. it is wow, just breathtaking. We had our meals mostly at the hotel restaurant and we enjoyed very much the menu . We have to thank as well for their kindness and hospitality Gusti, Ade, Dicky, Putu and Ayu. We also had 2 just amazing daily trips with Rana. Rana drive us and has been our guide for temples, coffee plantations and beaches. He was also so kind to invite us to see his family temple. Everything! I have traveled the world and have been to many 5 stars but never had the service I got here. Worth 10 stars! The stuff is the kindest and most professional I have seen always ready to support any request.

It was an absolute dream! Stayed there for 1 night at the end of my 3 week trip around Bali. The staff were incredibly nice and went the extra mile to make sure you had everything you needed. I also had a deep tissue massage with Noni which is the best I had during my trip. Gusti and Dicky took excellent care of me in the hotel, bringing drinks and food to my room which had its only private terrace area looking out at the view. Wayan drove me to the ATV activity I booked through the hotel and back and to the airport and is a really lovely person. He taught me a lot about Balinese culture which made the stay extra special.

We spent 4 nights at Uma Kalai, and I can safely say that this has been the best hotel experience that we ever had – we will recommend it to all our friends traveling to Bali. First, the location is absolutely stunning – very peaceful views over the rice fields from the restaurant, pool and terrace but also flourishing gardens and pathways in the rest of the hotel. Second, the intimacy of the location – with only 6 accommodations, you will feel alone in there, with no noise or disruptions. We booked the Villa where we had access to our own private pool, hammam and outdoor bath, it was absolutely amazing. Lastly and more importantly the staff members who make everything in their power to support you during your stay, from fresh fruit platters, hot teas when it was raining, arranging excursion, etc. Thank you very much Nana, Eka, Ade, Gusti for your warm welcome and a very special thank you to Dicky who was our main contact for most of the stay and went above and beyond by even giving us his personal spice mix before we left ❤. We hope to come back again!
