Alila Manggis

We had a wonderful stay at Alila Manggis. The hotel set-up is just beautiful - think vast tropical garden, open airy restaurant, a few small(er) pavilions with rooms and a spa. And somehow, a sense of peacefulness and calmness of the good (old) times. The staff is professional and genuinely kind.

Designed by Kerry Hill, this Classic & simple design matching with tropical jungle, beach, palm trees are just perfect, this property is so beautiful and even it is 30 years old, it age very well. The rooms is simple but very comfortable. We love this place from the moment we arrived into the lobby and waiting for checking, and ocean breeze is just perfect for this temperature. The service is extremely good, even though the price of this hotel is not so expensive as other high end brand like four seasons, but the level of service is as good as Four Seasons..attention to details, and everyone is super nice, I totally enjoy my stay here and I wish I could stay longer. The price-value is high. If u looking for a calm place to relax, here is the place for u. The breakfast is really good, it is a la carte, not buffet style, which means better quality, a lot of choices, local and western style as well, they even change the menu every day/every few days, means u don’t feel repeated it after a few days.. the juice is fresh pressed, coffee is barista coffee, also they offer free-afternoon tea during our stay👍🌴

het personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk. .. mooi zwembad met lekkere bedjes ontbijt is heel goed je krijgt wat je wil.

wij zijn er jaren geleden ooit geweest, we vonden t jammer dat ze langs t strand n weg aan t aanleggen waren. en de kamers beneden zijn n beetje gedateerd.

A highlight is the breakfast and dinner in the hotel. The restaurant has its own pastry department so the croissants etc. are fresh. I also liked the fresh tangerine (orange) juice. In the morning I recommend to try the Booster bowl (order from the menu) some time (and ask for some additional yoghurt for at the bottom) but also try the delicious Indonesian options. And in the evening the special dish called Megibung. The evening menu has great Indonesian (e.g. fish) and Western options (e.g. grilled chicken or beef). On Friday there is often an extensive BBQ that you can join. And in some cases they will replace that with a delicious sea food plate (recommended). A thank you for the great hospitality of the manager in the restaurant Joni and the very friendly restaurant staff like Agus, Muli, Sari, Saarti, Andi etc. together with the trainees. Also at the front desk you will find big smiles from Puspita, Epris, Ayus, Winda and Moerdika together with the trainees. And Handa for the events. The hotel has a nice large pool where you can relax for hours with a great view. Often a free mini massage is offered at the pool around 14.00. The rooms have enough space to sit outside to enjoy the weather (with sun or rain). The sea (that is very close by) is not really accessible for swimming although some locals seem to find a way. From 15.00-16.00h there is a possibility to meet other guests during complimentary tea time (with some nice Indonesian snacks (Lak lak, pukies etc.) and (ice)tea/coffee) at the sea side bar. Here you will often find the friendly Wayan and Eddy for a nice drink, chat or help. Interesting attractions in the area are e.g. Besakih Temple (mother temple), the water palaces and Lempuyang Temple (gate to heaven). You can e.g. ask Budhi, Torro and Moerdika for information or with help with other matters. Taxi apps like Grab are discouraged by the local authorities so if you want to be sure of a ride from that area you best also have a local taxi company service ready.

I just stayed 1 night in Alila Manggis but everything was beyond my expectation. When I first arrived, the bell desk team greeted us friendly, helped us with the luggage and park our car. In the lobby, the manager I believe his name was Pak Budi (sorry if it’s wrong) surprisingly greeted us by name which was very unexpected and I felt very welcomed. The check in process was very smooth, comfortable and helpful. Next Ibu Winda helped us to get to our room, she was so friendly and informative. The room was huge and clean and they put us on the ground floor room right in front of the pool which is good since I stayed with baby that likes to play on the ground. The FnB Manager which sadly I forgot to ask his name was very friendly that he offered to take picture of me and my family in the lobby and I really appreciated it. At the breakfast place, all the staff greeted us with smile as always and helped us with all of our request. Upon checked out, Ibu Puspita helped us with the bill and got little chit chat with her. Overall all the staff were amazing, friendly and helpful and I felt so welcomed there. Thankyou Alila Manggis ❤️
