Location and grounds were beautiful

Scenic Resort in a picturesque location Comfortable bed Friendly staff Good quality food and drinks available across the restaurants and cafes Complimentary tea and cakes each day - given banana strudel as leaving gift. Good activities available through the hotel - Bromo sunset walk is very enjoyable with a friendly guide

The rooms were cold and damp. One evening after it rained, the clothes in our bags were damp as well as the bedding. The walls and windows were visibly wet each day and night. The hotel changed bedding but had no fix for the damp in the room. The rooms are not soundproof and there is a lot of noise throughout the night. The Bromo sunrise tour starts too early - you arrive at the viewpoint around 2 hours before sunrise and wait in the cold. This could be cut shorter by leaving 60-90 minutes later and you could still have the experience of the sunrise without waiting around in the cold for hours.

Room was tiny, very damp and expensive for what it was. The bed was damp and the towels smelt musty. We also had cockroaches (found a dead one on our floor in the morning). There was also a loud wedding by our room. It finished at 10pm but not ideal when you have to get up at 2:30am!

The staff were exceptionally warm and accommodating. The surroundings scenery is spectacular.

You need to figure out which dishes the chef is good at. Some were not great. The banana brulee was a disaster. but other dishes were wonderful.

Lovely gardens and fantastic breakfast. Friendly staff.

The bedroom was damp and the bathroom needs updating. On the small side too. Only 1 plug for use.

The Jiwa Jawa is a very pretty, well maintained property with superb breakfast and amazing views.

It was quite noisy in the room and the blinds weren’t great. Also, some of the staff barely spoke English which made communication a bit difficult. Still, they were very friendly.

Beautiful place and great location. Staff lovely and food great.

Only issue was the room which was very small

It's a good property at an ideal location to explore Mt Bromo. The room is of decent size though washroom needs some upgrade. It was clean with a nice balcony. The hospitality is good and they were helpful enough to book Mount Bromo sunrise tour even though we checked in late at 8pm and booked our cab for the airport also next morning. All at fair prices. Resturant is good enough, though last order is at 9/9:30.

Would have been a 10 had they been responsive on email or website messaging or phone. Otherwise very helpful when you are there.
