Kandy Mountain Cottage

The owners are very friendly and this is like a homestay.

The location is a little secluded, difficult access by car. The room was not very big, bathroom even smalller, found one cockroach in the room as well. In general this was a nice experience, but be aware this is like a homestay vibe.

Nice big room includes a small balcony with a view where we had a beer. Beds are comfy and there is plenty of hot water and wifi. Hosts were super nice and served a delicious breakfast in their kitchen allowing for a friendly chat.

We were looking for a calm place which this place would be if it weren't for the dogs that were howling and barking at night. It didn't prevent us from sleeping but we could hear them. The place is a little bit our of the way and there is a very steep 50 meters to go up from the street, this could be problematic for people who have problems walking, it was not our case. Though the place is out of the center, it's very easy and cheap to get a Tuk-tuk to come and get you using the Pickme app, good to know.

The owners were wonderful people who were proactive in making our stay very comfortable. They arranged the car and driver for our trips and always packed breakfast for us even when we were leaving early morning.

The location is a little away from the main city and one has to climb a steep slope to reach the entrance. No Tuktuk is able to make the steep climb with passengers.

We stayed for one night, room was clean, had a tv, all the towels, all small details were good. we had a good sleep, morning was a nice breakfast with family.

We were warmly welcome by a fresh juice. The couple is dynamic, professional and friendly. They helped and guide us. The breakfast is an authentic Sri Lanka dishes, it is an opportunity to taste delicious food. Room with A/C, hot water shower and wifi. Kettle and tea were in the room. Quiet area, buses to reach the city are not far. On the main road there is supermarket.

The road to access the guesthouse is quite challenging. Carpet on the floor. Weak flow from the sink.

We loved the location of this place. It is about a 3km walk into the city centre, or a short bus ride, which was our preference because Kandy is quite busy. It is situated up on a hill so you can enjoy beautiful views from your room. There is a little terrace outside the room where you can sit and enjoy a coffee. The room itself was big, comfortable and clean, with double doors that opened up onto the terrace. The bathroom was clean and tidy. The owners were the best part of our stay here. They made us a delicious and very filling breakfast every morning in their kitchen. It felt very comfortable and wholesome. They gave us suggestions on what to check out in Kandy and told us which buses to take to get there (go to the Botanical Gardens, you will not regret it). We liked it so much here that we stayed an additional night.

The only complaint I have is the dogs barking in the evening. This is not the fault of the owners, I am sure this is an issue elsewhere in Kandy as well. Wasn't enough to deter us from extending our stay!

We stayed at Kandy Mountain Cottage for 2 nights. The Hosts were very friendly and helpful. The Breakfast was good and you can eat also lunch and dinner. It was perfekt. The view from the balcony was brilliant.
