Kandy Mountain Cottage

Breakfast was amazing, the room was big and had everything you need.

It was up a super steep hill, the family were kind but a little overbearing it was sort of like staying with your mom and dad.

We had a really good stay there. The owner is very hospitable, we just felt like we were visiting our distant relatives. Breakfasts are served in the family kitchen, so you can feel at home. As soon as we arrived we received fresh coconut water. The food served is of excellent quality, and the owner made every effort to make us feel taken care of. And the view from the apartment is just breathtaking!

The parking lot is a little steep, especially for TukTuk, but the owner built an extra spot in the middle of the hill to make it a little easier.

The couple running this homestay are so lovely and welcoming, I felt like I was family. They greeted us with fresh papaya juice on arrival and asked our plans, giving us lots of advice and recommendations for Kandy. They even drew a map and wrote instructions down for us for how to get to points of interest. The breakfast was fabulous, so much variety and cooked with love, very filling and tasty. The room was great, clean and comfortable with AC and a fan and the bathroom was clean. We had tea making facilities and a nice balcony seating area. It is at the top of a steep hill but easy enough to get up and down (tuk tuks may struggle). Location is quiet and not far by bus or tuk tuk into Kandy. Cannot thank this lovely family enough and highly recommend!

We chose this hotel for our one night in Kandy. The room was good and so was the view.

The hotel was too far away from Kandy city centre. Tuktuks didn’t know how to get there or thought it too far away. Watch their prices; should be around 350 rupees. Also the hotel was super noisy (really thin walls) and the bathroom floor stayed really wet.

Quiet location. Very comfortable

Very welcoming and friendly family host, comfortable room with AC. Great location only 10 minutes away from the city center by motorbike. Good breakfast with fruits.

As other mentioned, dogs in the surroundings area barking all evening but you get used to it :) A portable fan would be a nice addition to get some air flowing and avoid turning on AC all night when it cools down.
