Everything was impeccable, luxury resort, delicious food, best treatments

All was perfect

The staff were super friendly and helpful, who would go out of their way to make sure you were happy and tried their best to fix problems. The individually assigned reception person who dealt with you is a great initiative (peach we had was great). We chose it partly because of proximity to the airport and it was easy to get to while still having the Maldives feel. Veli as adults only was calm, relaxed and catered to your needs. Dhoni bar was great and we spent most nights there, staff really friendly. The diving was excellent and the dive team super relaxed, friendly and helpful, though the shark snorkelling was a bit commercial and artificial (fed to attract them) and served a number of islands. Would recommend the ocean view villa rather than the ones over the water as you get more privacy and more space - this is true in my view for most Maldives resorts. The issues we had (see below) were sympathetically handled by the manager who went out of his way to help, so lots of credit there.

I think a couple of detailed points may help potential guests and are only from our perspective: the two islands linked appeared a good option but the family friendly island had kids who were not well controlled. Due to the Maldives not restricting Russians, there were a lot there who behaved as they felt fit. The bar (Aqua) and restaurant were not particularly pleasant and we left quickly. However, sea salt fire and the bar above that were excellent. The Thai restaurant was nothing special and kids were ‘ruling the roost’ - we ended up leaving but got a guest visit to the private island which was amazing - only a glimpse but clearly a step above if you get the chance! Don’t get me wrong, we have and love kids, it’s just a lot were managed by maids and allowed to do anything they wanted with many guests lacking consideration for others. This is clearly not really a fault of the hotel, neither was the view of the high rises being built on the nearby island, though this somewhat detracted from the Maldives paradise. We still loved the Veli island resort though!

He made everything feel effortless and ensured every detail was perfectly taken care of. Every morning started beautifully thanks to Dema, the breakfast host, who always greeted us with the warmest smile and remembered our names. That level of personal attention made the experience feel incredibly personalized and heartfelt. The dining experience was elevated by the wonderful waiters Riva, Nabith, and Ziyan — always positive, friendly, and genuinely happy to serve. Their energy, humor, and openness to conversation made every meal a joy. A very special thank you to the team for the beautiful birthday surprise they prepared for my partner. The thoughtful setup and attention to detail truly touched our hearts and made the celebration unforgettable. It was such a lovely and meaningful gesture that we will always remember. Special appreciation also goes to Saliq, our room attendant, for the impeccable tidiness of our villa and the adorable handwritten notes he left behind. Those little touches added so much warmth and charm to our stay. Thank you to the entire Anantara Veli team for creating such a memorable and heartfelt experience. We are leaving with the most beautiful memories and cannot wait to return 🤍✨
