Most of The staff were friendly , especially Paula

Location of our villa which we have asked to change but no one even came to explain or apologize about availability . We took full board package but it had only few restaurants oncluded and we had to pay extra at some other restaurants

The refurbished villas are fine

The food is far below average. I get better food on board of any plane. Drinks - terrible. In most cases it seems they even don’t now how mix simple cocktails properly. Small selection of fruits at breakfast and what they have is not totally fresh too . So bottled drinks are only option. Regarding food all looks cheap. So called Wagyu beef was a it rotten and you definitely feel it on taste. Over water villas are refurbished, but the quality is very questionable. Like, irregular wooden screens between villas. Or some terraces bending down on corners. Servis from personal butler was very questionable, as she was permanently doubting if we are couple or not. Very unpleasant. From 500 other options I will next time avoid this place for sure. The fame of this place is clearly long gone. Staff training to modern hotel standards does not exist there

This was our second trip to Anantara Veli and the place has kept its magic. No detail is missed - from the excellent food served at the restaurants, to the cleanliness of the facility, the celebration of special moments (anniversaries, birthdays, return trips, end of stay), to the flexibility and friendliness of the staff. Every step of the journey is perfectly designed. A very special mention to Paula, Kareem and Ravi for for making our moments extra special; and to Ibu and Joelle for their hospitality and attention at all times of the day!!

The prices of the food and beverages are on the high side. An island in Veli's sight has built high hotel buildings that sadly take away from the idyllic views and scenery. Try to not look that way as you're sitting on the pool.
