Khem Villas

Khem Villas is a very very special place and if you’re visiting Ranthambore this is THE place to stay. The team are so welcoming, nothing is to much trouble, Bhanu is resident nature guide and took us on walks and a night drive around the nature reserve the hotel sits in. Gheeta (Head chef) came and talked to us every night and prepared anything we wanted for the following day - western and Indian dishes- she is amazing. I would recommend if you can get one of the cottages overlooking the lake to get one - every day we saw deer, birds, crocodiles, a jungle cat one night, jackals and owls. The place is owned by the son and daughter in law of the family who effectively set up Ranthambore National Park and if you’re lucky they will be there and tell stories of the parks heritage. Also the hotel is 5 minutes from the main gate of Zones 1-5 of the park - these are the best zones (although closed on Wednesdays) so request those when you book your safari. This is a wonderful place to stay where great thought has gone into providing guests with exceptional levels of service and creating the perfect base from which to experience Ranthambore. The buildings are tastefully designed and our cottage felt so special, with outdoor bath and shower and a path to our private seating area by a large pond where we could watch kingfishers, crocodile and antelope. The food was lovely with dinner a splendid collection of not indian dishes and lunch a cosmopolitan mix; all notable for flavour and freshness of ingredients. Staff throughout were very kind an thoughtful. Sadly our stay was too short but it was the perfect finale to our two weeks in Rajathstan.

Awesome Chef,Gita! We stayed for three days and not a single dish was repeated. She is creative and truly lovely to be out and about talking with guests. Harish ji, at reception was exceptionally helpful and made SUCH a difference. All staff were lovely. Thank you.

The manager of the place Manvwer(?) could've been more positive, helpful. He remained aloof and disappointingly dismissive , whilst the staff helped resolve our issues. We spent over £6000 as a group in the place, and we're disappointed that he couldn't help us resolve a £300 payment to the safari. All we needed was a medium to convert. Long story short, other staff helped us through. Phew!

This is a fantastic hotel. We had reserved for one night but enjoyed it so much we decided last minute to stay an extra night. This was so swiftly organised that it was unbelievable. The quality of service of all the staff is exceptionally good. The food is excellent and so fresh, and all food is prepared using clean water so fresh fruit etc is safe for tourists. What really sets this hotel apart is the commitment to the environment, it is truly an eco Lodge where nature comes first and in fact the hotel led to significant rewilding of the environment. I also strongly recommend the walk around the property. It is perfectly set up for the safaris l, they provide tea/coffee before safari, a sandwich to take with you and the a delicious breakfast when you get. Given the full board this makes the hotel value for money. Stay here you will not regret it and it gives you memories and experiences for life.
