Munnar Majestic Resort with Pool

The view was fabulous, the pool was great and the food was excellent. The kitchen staff were very friendly and accommodating and happily brought our dinner to our room (up a very steep hill).

The location on Booking.com was given as central Munnar but it was about 15Km away, so not what we expected, luckily the hotel food was good as there would have been little other choice. The reception staff seemed a bit disinterested and a fridge in the room would be good.

The room was very comfortable, particularly the bed. The staff were extremely delightful and very helpful. They helped us arrange all the activities that we wanted to do. Breakfast was great.

Having sun loungers by the pool would have been nice.

We enjoyed our stay at Majestic Resort in spite of its location not being as advertised. The manager was very nice and we spent both evenings sitting outside chatting to him at dinner. The staff were generally very helpful. The chalet style room was up a steep incline but very clean with all facilities and a very good view over the Western Ghats.

Firstly, the location is not as stated on Booking.com. (despite the staff trying to rectify this !). It is at least 20km from Munnar - nearly an hour in a tuk tuk each way. Secondly, the site is extremely steep so no good for people with mobility issues. We sat outside the kitchen area for dinner in the evenings which was really part of the car park, this area could be landscaped into a more convivial eating/social area.
