Masseria San Paolo Grande

Really lovely staff that went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and offer recommendations for exploring the area. Beautiful grounds. Stunning pool but we came in the winter so we didn't use it. Not heated. Restaurant was good. Service was very nice. Dinner is basically US prices (160 euros for two with drinks). Breakfast was good, not amazing or abundant but that was fine, we don't need to indulge at every meal. You get a choice of a main (eggs, yogurt, etc) and some sweet pastries, a basic fruit plate, and bread for the table.

No hot water in the room, just warmish. Low water pressure in the shower. Walls are thin. We heard everything from the neighboring room. We reported the water issue and they said they fixed it but it was even colder day 2. There is no heat (or AC in the summer) in the bathroom area so it gets pretty chilly even with the heat running in the room. We stayed in the annex building (not the restaurant building).

Wurden vom Parkplatz mit eine. Caddy abgeholt. Toller und sehr freundlicher Empfang. Bekamen einen beim Empfang einen Drink serviert.

The staff were very helpful and friendly and the pool area was very nice.

Our room on booking.com said it had a view of the garden and dining area but our room was dark and we only had two small windows and no access to outside which was really disappointing given we were effectively in the countryside with lots of space. There were also a few steps in bathroom that became very sloppy when wet. Breakfast was okay and coffee average but we had much nicer ones in our other hotels. Maybe we had been spoilt in our previous hotel in Lecce which was amazing.

The place is beautiful but the most important thing was the staff! We arrived late and they kept the restaurant open specially for us. The pool area is beautiful. Highly recommended

Beautiful grounds and great location. Very nice and artistic decor. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh, and Sabrina always met us with a smile. Fantastic pool area. Great place to relax and perfect base to explore the region. Super close to beautiful Ostuni; beaches are not far either.

In general, we missed a sense of the personal touch / connection and lack of urgency to some issues in the room (e.g. with warm water, air conditioning). Nevertheless, a beautiful place and overall, the experience was good.
