Pescador View Beachfront and Extension by the Ocean Hostels & Restaurant Moalboal

Overall, it was good value for money. That is mainly due to the beachfront location, and being near to the sardine run. The staff were friendly and helpful once I got there, but a serious lack of communication prior to my arrival. The room was fine, I was in a bamboo shack with double bed and fan (and the fan worked surprisingly well). There was even a little balcony area on it, which was a really tranquil place in the evening to listen to the sea and look out at stars. I had to use the shared bathroom which was fine as it was kept clean. Good selection of breakfasts that can be purchased, and the one I had was really nice.

We got a room at late arrival. Next morning we discovered that it is at the sardine run spot! Snorkeling from the beach to the sardine was easy and fun.

Unfortunately, the stay was disappointing. The staff seemed unmotivated and inattentive. Fresh bed linen/ towel was promised but not provided, and the shower was not working properly – it was not even connected to the hot water boiler. The AC was very noisy but powerless. Overall, the property felt poorly maintained and below standard.
