Visiwa Beach Resort

Great location in front of the Seven Islands. At high tide, you get a sort of private beach. (Be aware that there is a fair share of seaweed, although it tends to congregate near the shore. You can always seek refuge in the pool if that bothers you.) At low tide, you can walk to the islands and the reef. Our room was very comfortable and well equipped. The facilities are good, served by a plethoric and friendly staff. Good buffet breakfast.

The restaurant is decent but not amazing. Also, if you want local food, you’ll need to head into town, as the menu is almost exclusively Italian.

Abbiamo trascorso un soggiorno davvero fantastico al Visiwa Beach Resort. La posizione è semplicemente spettacolare: affacciato direttamente sul mare, proprio di fronte alla suggestiva Isola dell’Amore, regala panorami meravigliosi e un’atmosfera rilassante difficile da trovare altrove. La struttura è impeccabile sotto ogni punto di vista: pulizia eccellente, ambienti curati e un’attenzione ai dettagli che si percepisce fin dal primo momento. Ma ciò che rende davvero speciale questo resort è lo staff, sempre gentilissimo, disponibile e incredibilmente attento alle esigenze degli ospiti. Un ringraziamento speciale va allo chef Diego, che con la sua cucina riesce a trasformare ogni pasto in un’esperienza, e al gestore Diego, che si distingue per professionalità, disponibilità, gentilezza, simpatia e grande attenzione verso gli ospiti. Abbiamo apprezzato moltissimo anche la loro grande umanità: a causa delle vicende legate alla situazione in Medio Oriente abbiamo avuto bisogno di prolungare il soggiorno, e la struttura si è dimostrata estremamente comprensiva e disponibile nell’aiutarci a gestire la situazione. Personnel serviable, plutôt agréablement surprise par la prestation restaurant. Petit hôtel (moins de 30 chambres) donc assez intimiste et calme. Piscine agréable et de bonne taille. Nou avons eu la chance que l'hôtel soit peu rempli apparemment.

Le Gîte réservé comportait bien 2 chambres avec SDB chacune mais l'emolacement est médiocre : 1 chambre sans aucune vue, fenêtre donnait sur 1 mur (donc sombre), la seconde avait vue sur le parking alors que les chambres classiques ont une vue mer, et ceci n'est pas du tout indiqué lors de la réservation. A la prise des clefs on nous a précisé "agréable vue mer", ais il s'agit d'une vue de la terrasse privée et non de face mais de côté. Malgré tout la terrasse était bordée de bougainvilliers et agréable. Plage privée annoncée mais très petite et inutilisable à marée haute. Baignade impossible : beaucoup d'algues et de toute façon pas de fond à marée basse.

Camera spaziosa e pulita. Spiaggia privata e posizione di fronte all’isola dell’amore. Personale super disponibile. Ristorante forse anche meglio dell’Italia. Diego il direttore super simpatico e accogliente.

The stay was everything that we were looking for. However the staff were the real highlight. I got injured during the trip and they were so gracious to allow us an extremely late checkout as I tried to patch myself up and leave for my flight. The did it with no questions asked and jumped at any opportunity to be as helpful as possible. I honestly was in no condition to check out at the actual check out time and the team really did what the could to ensure that I made it home in one piece. Thank you very much to everyone who works here. Especially the front desk staff.

This resort was a little slice of heaven in Watamu. It was so peaceful, and this contributed to us having a great stay. Breakfast was great, the à la carte food at the restaurant was also really good, location was near the main road in Watamu and the room was gorgeous and clean. But the best part was the staff, every single one of them made this a great stay. They were all so friendly and kind, always making sure we had everything we needed. This was probably the best staff I’ve experienced in my travels so far. The owner was also very friendly, always around for a chat and very personable, which is a really nice touch. We hope to go back to Watamu in the future and if we do, we’ll be staying here again!
