Visiwa Beach Resort

Soggiorno semplicemente meraviglioso al Visiwa Beach Resort: un angolo di paradiso a Watamu, con una vista sull’oceano che sembra dipinta e un’atmosfera elegante ma autentica. La differenza la fanno le persone: un grazie speciale a Diego, General Manager, presente, attento e capace di farti sentire davvero ospite e non “cliente”. Cura ogni dettaglio con una gentilezza rara. E poi la cucina: qui si sale di livello. Diego, chef d’eccellenza, è stato una sorpresa continua: piatti creativi, materie prime freschissime, impiattamenti bellissimi e sapori equilibrati. Onestamente, una cucina che definirei quasi stellata, con cene che diventano un’esperienza. Servizio impeccabile, sorrisi, disponibilità e un’energia positiva che rende la vacanza ancora più speciale. Tornerei domani.

Great location staff is very friendly

The location on the beach was great. Lots of beach boys but security deterred them if we were on the sun beds.the array of sunbeds and the pool area was lovely.

The hotel had water issues - not unusual in Watamu but the hotel didn’t inform us and we had to constantly chase for updates. Coming back from snorkelling no ability to shower and then it wasn’t fixed until mid day the next day. The hotel let down the whole stay with one minor issue that set a poor tone - in the morning at breakfast coffee had to be paid for unless you were happy with a sticky catering tin of Dorman’s instant coffee. It was full of wet coffee with repeated spoons dipped in and sticky on the outside. Given the prices charged this penny pinching approach left a sour taste - especially as the hotel failed to supply water. The pillows on the beds are very cheap - synthetic and sweaty.

The location is stunning

Under new management, the food is hit and miss, furnishings tired (torn dining chair covers, and lacking the simplistic, elegant furnishings (the reception area has a big painting of a warrior, next to a strange painting of the sea next to some Kenyan bells! The area between the pool and beach is badly laid out and chaotic.

Esperienza magnifica. Ottima struttura, pulita e organizzata bene. Camera spaziosa dotata di tutti gli spazi, comfort e le prese necessarie, offerta di tutti prodotti da bagno, cambio asciugamani quotidiano. C' è anche il bidet!!! Colazione variegata ed abbondante. Punto di spiaggia meraviglioso da cui poter facilmente raggiungere le isole davanti con una passeggiata durante la bassa marea. asciugamani per il mare pulite ogni giorno. Lettini posizionati in diverse postazioni, comodi per poter godere al meglio della giornata di mare.Ottima cucina anche per pranzo e cena. Terrazza meravigliosa per il pranzo con panorama bellissimo. Sicurezza in spiaggia come "filtro" per i beach Boys. Fiore all'occhiello della struttura è Diego, il direttore italiano presente in loco, sorridente, gentile e disponibile con tutti per qualunque esigenza, attento ai clienti e al personale. Ci hanno anche offerto l' upgrade della camera gratuito assegnandoci quella vista mare!

Siamo eimasti troppo poco!

The slab bed and staff attitude at the reception. Definitely they are not welcoming at all. the concrete slab is a big NO to me- not comfortable at all. the hotel needs to modernise given its location. The rooms are dull and come out as dormitories.

Sehr nettes Personal und hervoragendes Essen, aber das war es leider dann auch schon

Frühstück sehr eingeschränkt, immer das gleiche Angebot, leider meistens nur süsses Brot.Das gesamte Haus ist total runtergekommen max. 2 Sterne ,Klimaanlagen fallen auseinander, alle Möbel, Liegen, Moskitonetzte defekt Poster absolut schmuddelig. Strand wird nicht gereinigt daher alles voll Algen, Seegras ,Plastik und auch Glas. Ist am Watamu Beach und Turtle Beach erheblich sauberer, im Pool kein klares Wasser
