Frangipani El Nido

Our room was exceptional, offering a panoramic view of the ocean and plenty of space. The staff was very accommodating, although there were a few hiccups in communication. Unfortunately, my son got food poisoning from a restaurant downtown, but when I asked the hotel to make chicken broth for him, they readily obliged without any hesitation. We didn't stay much at the hotel, and mostly got our swimming and all our adventures through the excursions.

The location is at Corong-Corong Beach, which is just a tricycle ride away from downtown El Nido and Vanilla Beach, the centers of local activity. If you're looking for nightlife and want to avoid constantly paying for tricycle rides to get meals, I recommend staying at a location closer to the town center. The breakfast was complimentary and quite good, but it was à la carte. This left my husband and older sons wanting more, as they were accustomed to breakfast buffets at larger hotels.

Like what happened to many others, Frangipani took our money and they never reimbursed us. I cannot believe the 5/5 comments here. They must have been paid to write them because the hotel isnt worth it. We ate at other restaurants and saw other hotels and we wished we stayed somewhere else. Karuna for example is amazing. Why would people stay at Frangipani??! Its disgusting and unethical. The whole hotel smelt MOLDY The rooms are NOISY as they are 10m from the road, full of ants in the room, the towels are not clean There are STREET DOGS ROAMING the hotel The POOL IS TINY, WITH CRACKED TILES that cut your feet The BEACH IS DIRTY and cant be swam in. The INTERNET DROPS OUT 10 TIMES A DAY The RESTERAUNT FOOD IS REALLY AVERAGE The LOCATION ISNT NEAR ANYWHERE PEOPLE WANT TO GO There was NO management at the hotel - Apparently they ‘run’ the hotel from Cebu !! no jokes. (what hotel has no manager!) On our last day my wife's shorts were torn from NAILS STICKING THROUGH THEIR POOL FURNITURE as well. When we asked for the hotel to compensate us for the shorts they declined to pay.

- The staff were all amazing and incredibly helpful, making the experience much more enjoyable. - The room was spacious and comfortable, providing a great environment to relax. - The sound of the waves at night was very soothing, contributing to a peaceful and restful sleep.

- The internet connection was very poor, which made it difficult to stay connected. - The towels and bathrobes were old, stained, and should definitely be replaced. - The pool was disappointingly small :( - There were no blackout curtains in the room, so as soon as the sun came up, the room became bright

The room was big and the staff polite. Pick up and drop off was well organized.

Breakfast was limited and minimal and anything extra had additional charge. The restaurant stink of fried and they wouldn’t open the windows. The room is big but no closet, extra pillow and some storage inside the bathroom. (No further explanations on this…) the shower didn’t have a lot of water and WiFi was bad. We booked the room with sea view but it was covered with trees, when we asked them to cut them it took 3 days to do it. We lost a card key and they charged us for the replacement!! Finally it sells as a beach hotel but the beach is shallow and unusable.

We had such high hopes for this boutique hotel - photos look incredible and the reviews were great. Sadly, these did not match the experience we had. This was our last stop in the Philippines and we have left raving reviews for all other accommodation!! On arrival the hotel offered a complimentary taxi service, which was booked weeks in advance. When we got to the airport, the van driver decided to instead take paying guests to another hotel, leaving us stuck at the airport. We phoned the hotel and they said we should wait for the next taxi, which arrived 40 minutes after the booked time! The hotel does have amazing views from the bar, restaurant and rooms however the hotel itself is tired and shabby with broken fixtures throughout, and construction materials tainting the look of the beach front (see photo). Staff weren’t particularly helpful - they didn’t acknowledge the long wait, and multiple requests were left ignored. For example, there is only one small chair on the balcony, when asking for another they said they would sort this and then we heard nothing else. The WiFi was also down on arrival and despite telling us they would let us know when it was back, we again never heard from them. We checked everyday and once it was working again, it didn’t actually cover the bedroom or restaurant, so could only be used in the small front office space. Whilst we thought this would be a small boutique hotel, the loud children at breakfast make it less enjoyable/romantic. Paired with an hour wait for food, it wasn’t the best start to the day, delaying our boat trip, however the breakfast itself was delicious! Wouldn’t recommend the nachos as a snack though - stale and cheap (see photo)!!! Given the price we paid, we have found much nicer and more affordable accommodation in the town centre, so would recommend looking around before booking!

Very attentive staff and beautiful location, the sunsets were SO amazing. We could hear the sea every night it was very soothing. The onsite Cala restaurant was also a great dinner option, probably one of the best at El Nido we've tried! Good mix of filo & other cuisines. The owner of the hotel also owns the El Nido Yachting Club (with Speedboat tours), and another hotel at Las Cabanas Beach, check with the staff they are able to arrange.

Due to the geography of the hotel location, wi-fi signal was very poor, this didn't work out for my friend who had to take some late work calls. Sometimes the breakfast options was quite oily.

Hotel Staff were very friendly and helpful! I love the Hotel furnishings!

One of the booked rooms had issues that took a while to be addressed by the property.

Friendly staff, helpful with transport, attentive and couteous. The quality of the staff and service really contributed to our overall experience. We enjoyed the availability of international tv app options. Room and bathroom size were generous, with very comfortable bedding.

The proximity to town. There was a lack of lighting and signage to allow easy locating of the hotel. The bar, kitchen, and swimming pool were smaller than expected- more like a botique style accomodation opposed to hotel standard, as represented on the website and by the pictures. The pictures of the beach were misleading. They were not a true representation. The cleanliness of the beach could be addressed to improve the standards.

The staff made it very easy for us to feel welcome, and were always accommodating. Good range of cocktails and breakfasts. Great views of the islands directly from the upstairs bar or the restaurant. Enough room to get massage beds in there too.

The Air Conditioner in the rooms could have been stronger, as it was a bit uncomfortable to sleep in during the heat. Also, the wifi could be a lot stronger too. It was difficult to get signal in the rooms (especially the bathroom where there was none) - I'd attribute it to the concrete walls.
