Grand Hotel Holiday Resort

I stayed 9 nights at Grand Hotel in June 2026 and had a lovely time. Pros - Lovely sea view from our room - The food at meal times were delicious. Truly one of the nicest all inclusive buffets I’ve tried. Tasty, good quality food, also not repetitive - 3 pools, including one adults only pool, which was the only one I spent time at. Plenty of sun loungers available - Staff very friendly and helpful. - Good variety of drinks on all inclusive menu (see picture) - The resort is very hilly, and our room was right at the top of the resort. Thankfully, there are drivers in cars and buggy’s in the resort that take you up to the top until 11pm. So very helpful and friendly - Aegean (à la carte) was tasty and included which was nice Cons - Housekeeping could have been better. I noticed a mark in our sink on check in and assumed it was a stain (otherwise it would’ve been cleaned before our arrival) but about a week into our stay, I wiped it with tissue. Straight off.. Also, the clean towels smelled strongly of vinegar. I assume vinegar is put in the was to keep the towels white, but really stinky - All Inclusive was only until 10:30pm which feels very early - Drinks at meal times were table service, which wasn’t an issue per se, just slightly less convenient than self serve. Saying that, the wines at dinner were very nice To note: the hotel mainly caters to French and German tourists I’d say. When looking at the entertainment program (including the kids entertainment), the activities were listed in French and German, not English. We were on holiday to relax so didn’t bother us, but perhaps could be difficult for a family Overall, we had a lovely stay at Grand Hotel and would consider returning

This is our 4th time to this absolutely beautiful hotel, and I can honestly say, it never disappoints. The food, atmosphere and staff are second to none. Tonight, we went to the La Luna Italian restaurant and we were so welcomed by the beautiful, Sofia. She has such a beautiful personality and they most welcoming smile. She truly is a credit to the Grand Hotel staff. If you're contemplating coming here, we implore you to do so.

We’ve just returned from this hotel as a family of 8. Firstly, all the reviews previously are about massages because the spa ladies ask you write a review as soon as your treatment finishes, luckily I left my phone with my family, otherwise I would have felt the need to write a review before leaving. The treatment was wonderful may I say but perhaps reviews on the hotel itself would be more beneficial to the hotel and upcoming guests. Now to our stay, we have had a lovely time but we wouldn’t return to the hotel I’m afraid. Simply due to the location (short walk down to stalis but taxi back each time 12-15 euros - hotel also offer shuttle bus everyday which was a great addition), very very poor evening entertainment, mini disco for the children was the same 6 songs every night, nothing changed, and paper/plastic cups everywhere!! I like a cup of coffee in a glass cup in my room, not paper! They charged 27 euros for the safe and 100 euros for the tourist tax (which I know can’t be avoided) but even before we got to our room, we were 127 euros down. The food was good for an all inclusive, different every night we ate and the pool bar at the top of the hotel offered a good selection of snacks such as burgers, fish fingers, pizza etc, a few branded drinks (absolute vodka, Havana rum and beefeater gin) but everything else was charged such as Barcardi 8 euros a shot. This hotel is on a steep hill so be prepared to walk uphill if you have children and want to visit the kids pool/slides and mini club. There is a transfer bus that loops around the resort but it’s just catching it. We did use it a couple of times! Room was basic but cleaned everyday by the cleaners with fresh new towels. George in the restaurant was such a friendly man, he made our visit to the restaurant enjoyable, ensuring we had everything we needed. He is a credit to the hotel. Hotel lacked warmth in my opinion to other hotels we’ve stayed in, staff not as friendly as others but overall, a wonderful holiday and we would definitely visit Crete again.
