Hidden Beach is somewhat more remote, as the name implies, but close to the main road with most of the restaurants, quick to reach with a scooter, which one can rent from Hidden Beach directly. We had great weather, so the location was perfect, and as I learned the west side of the island is much less windy than the east side in November - makes a massive difference! The bed is very comfortable and the AC is strong. The view from the room is magnificent, with a small wooden balcony. All the staff including Jake were helpful especially to arrange a taxi etc. Overall a very relaxed vibe and not the big resort feeling. There is a massive issue with trash floating up on to the shore, but thankfully in November it did not seem to be an issue. As the island is so small, one can also go to other bigger beaches for beach days if desired.

There is no real on-site restaurant, if it does rain I imagine it can be more of a pain to get food etc.. The balcony only had a very umcomfortable wooden chair and small table. A great pity! A comfortable lounger and cushions to relax on and enjoy the view would make a massive difference (and an umbrella, if possible with the wind exposure). The room is quite spartan and a few small items could make it more comfy. The property could generally benefit from some additional comfortable loungers in addition to the few hangmats. There are no real amenities to be enjoyed apart from the bar, which closes around 10PM, such as a pool, umbrellas, loungers, full restaurant etc. This is completely ok as it is also clearly stated in the description; however, for that I feel the price point is on the high side, compared to other full resorts on the island.

We loved everything about our stay in Hidden Beach and we already miss it and wish we could come back immediately! The bungalows are incredible, so big, modern and beautiful and waking up to the view of the ocean every morning was pure bliss. The staff are all so nice and welcoming, we immediately felt like home and we never felt like this in any hotel. It’s a super fun atmosphere and we loved hanging out at the beach bar every day. The lunch we had there was also so yummy as well as the cocktails! The location is a bit remote but they rent scooters and since Koh Mak is so small, nothing is far away. Also for us it was the best beach and atmosphere so we didn’t even feel the need to go anywhere else, we just went out for dinner. Thanks to Jake and the rest of the team for making our stay so special! We miss you all already and hopefully we can be back soon!!

Der "Gastgeber" Jake ist einfach super! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wir waren schon dreimal im "Hidden Beach" und während unserer Aufenthalte konnten wir jedesmal spüren, dass Jake und seine Angestellten, immer alles dafür tun (und es auch vorwiegend schaffen), uns alles recht zu machen. Herausragend ist für uns aber auch einfach die romantische Lage: direkt und exklusiv am Meer gelegen mit, zwei Mini-Mini-Stränden, welche je nach Gezeiten, Mondstand und Jahreszeit mehr oder weniger groß bzw. klein sind. Ein Wald bzw. teilweise sogar Urwald, befindet sich ebenfalls nur wenige Meter hinter den Bungalows. Sowas findet man kaum noch. Eine gemütliche, attraktive Bar mit Meerblick und moderaten Naturlook, runden das ansprechende, natürliche Konzept ab. Auch die Sitzmöglichkeiten an den Tischen und Bänken (Holz) wurden passend zur Bar, rustikal im "natural look" gestaltet. Anfahrt: am einfachsten mit dem Taxi und dann im Resort ein Moped mieten (ggf. im voraus reservieren). Ein breiter, ziemich holpriger Weg führt uns hinauf zu den wirklich schönen Bungalows selbst, welche auf Stelzen erbaut wurden. Eine kleine Steintreppe führt zur Eingangstür des jeweiligen Bungalows, die je nach Höhe zirka 3 bis 6 Stufen hat. Ich glaube, alle Bungis haben diese riesige Terrasse aus Bambus, welche quasi eine Panorama-Aussicht auf's Meer und den Garten bietet. Ich empfehle dafür zumindest Sitzkissen o.ä. zu organisieren; die Bambuskonstruktion ist sicher, aber nicht wirklich bequem zum sitzen oder liegen, wenn man keine Stühle oder Sitzkissen hat. Unser Bungalow war sehr gut ausgestattet: großes, bequemes (!) Doppelbett (von wo man ebenfalls auf's Meer blicken kann!), ein schönes, gut funktionierendes, relativ modernes Badezimmer mit einer wirklich guten Ausstattung, wie man es auch von guten Hotels kennt; im Eingangsbereich gibt's eine große, mindestens zwei Meter lange lange Ablage aus Teakholz für persönliche Dinge, wie Koffer, Kleidung, etc.

Es gab nichts auszusetzen, weil wir Moped fahren. Ansonsten würde ich mich als Fußgänger etwas zu weit entfernt vom Dorf fühlen. Die Straße am Waldrand ist zufuss ab 18Uhr, wenn das Tageslicht plötzlich ausgeht, alleine etwas unheimlich; ist nichts für "Angsthasen". Da raschelt es mal hier und mal da... Tiere rascheln, piepsen, kreischen, brummeln etc. Für Naturliebhaber, die trotzdem nicht total alleine sein möchten, ist es, meiner Meinung nach, schon ein spannender Ort...

Der Gastgeber ist sehr freundlich, offen und hilfsbereit.

Wird als Resort in den Buchungssystemen gelistet, ist aber eher ein Hostel.
