Hidden Beach Resort

The location of this place right on the beach is wonderful - you can hear the sea all night long as the doors are screened & you can leave them open. Fantastic views. I loved the swimming - at high tide you can swim over the little rocky places and the water was lovely for proper swimming as well as just cooling off. The staff are delightful & really really looked after me ☺️🙏 It’s so relaxing at HBR but we all know how much effort that takes. The Mexican food between 11am -4pm was a complete surprise & top notch: the best Ceviche I have ever eaten - cooked by a lovely Czech man called Alech (?sp) Out of those hours food can be ordered in from a fantastic local restaurant, again wonderful quality, reasonably priced & usually v quick ( longer at peak times, which they warned me about ☺️) My room had a fab view, was v comfortable & the air con was brilliant.

Just that it’s so well booked up now !! It’s v popular with good reason.

They made me pay an additional fee for paying by credit card, and this was not specified in the booking conditions.

The view (from a balcony and even from a bed) is perfect, a room is very beautiful, nice shower. We were there one night, we liked it.

It would be nice to have written information in the room. There was an active mouse running around on the roof early in the morning. There are holes in the ceiling in the room that need to be fixed, as adhesive tape is not a long-term solution (until then, the tape needs to be renewed). The food here is basically nonexistent (nachos, tacos) and it wasn't good, go elsewhere to eat (you still need a scooter to get somewhere, they rent it here). The soft drink menu could be wider and even then they were missing some ingredients for their soft drinks. You need to watch where you step in the sea, as there are also sea urchins there.

Overall, it was a delightful experience. The modern bungalows are beautifully designed, with a clean and stylish aesthetic that adds a touch of luxury to the laid-back island vibe. Each cabin offers comfort and privacy, making it a perfect spot for a peaceful getaway. They offer a bar right by the sea. It’s a fantastic place to relax with a cocktail in hand enjoying the gentle ocean breeze. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere

However, there were a couple of downsides. While the beachfront location is stunning, the beach itself could use some attention, as it was a bit dirty during our stay. Additionally, the hammocks and beach chairs were worn out or broken, which took away from the otherwise lovely setup. Despite these minor issues, this resort is a great choice for anyone looking for a tranquil escape on Koh Mak. A little maintenance and beach cleanup would elevate it to perfection, but even as it stands, it’s a wonderful spot to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the island.

The staff were really friendly and accommodating. Megan was great! The views and the beach were stunning. The accommodation was really clean and spacious with a modern feel. I'd love to go back. Really happy I stumbled across this place.

Room 5 had some holes in the ceiling, which needed taping up. A simple fix. But it really didnt ruin anything. I arrived a week before the kitchen opened, but it was possible and easy to order take out via the bar. I can see from their social media the kitchen is now open and the food looks stunning! I'd suggest hiring a scooter as it really is hidden and off the beaten track.

What an amazing place! From the moment we arrived, we felt super welcome on the property. Jake was super nice the whole time, helped us with everything and all the tips we needed. The hotel is just beautifully put in an amazing beach, no one else around. You can also kayak to nearby beaches. Although there was no restaurant at the time, we were able to order dinner and breakfast (pineapple pancakes were delicious), and it was great! The bungalows were big, spacious, super clean and had a great balcony. This place is beautiful, really friendly, love the atmosphere, and although we only stayed one night, it was totally worth it!
