Minoa Palace Resort

Great resort , very comfortable Staff is very nice , everything went perfect , thank you for making this vacation this great !

Our expectations were high, but this 5 star hotel disappointed. The amenities are nice, the beach area as well and thalasso has a great view. The beds are very comfortable and the buffets varied in the evenings. The staff is amazing, so kind and caring, on top of everything. Alicia the manager did a great job, very professional and doing everything she can to accommodate us.

We started in an imperial room that was a letdown, with a view on a water structure and ugly buildings and a parking in the back. We changed to the main building the next day, a more cozy room with pool view. You cross a bridge over a highway to get from the main building to the imperial / beach side and the highway was busy and louder than we expected, you can hear it from most rooms in the main building. Big pools, closing at 6 PM. The imperial sea view rooms are serene, although even more expensive and even though these are the newer rooms, it feels dated. Maybe it’s a matter of taste as well. The balconies are well located, but the tiles are cheap and the furniture is simple, without cushions or anything comfortable. The price is doesn’t match the offer and they made smart photos. We enjoyed the buffet, quite diverse and much fruit in the morning and some diversity in the evenings. The gyms are alright and the spa is beautiful with a wide range of treatments. We had a massage by a woman which was bad, painful, uncomfortable and no real massage techniques, I wouldn’t recommend it at this price point. There’s also a male masseur and he does better apparently. The mini bar has tea and they only stock it between set times the next day, you’ll pay if you want an espresso capsule or bottle of water. They have packed wooden sticks to stir your drink.. It all feels very no frills and basic which is unacceptable for a price point at 350 euros a night. Overal an okay stay, but we just expected something nicer, this doesn’t live up to our 5 star hotel expectations and definitely not for the nightly price.

Wanted to leave a review before the sadness of coming home kicked in. The hotel is very nice, the dinner for half board is excellent and highly recommend. Never ate so well. The room with a private swimming pool is a lovely feature and thank you so much for upgrading us - but the absolute winner are the people. The staff could not be any more welcoming and hospitable. No problem or issue is not met with excellent service. They were the most polite and friendly (and very well presented) staff I’ve ever seen at a hotel. Our cleaner was delightful. I actually learned the names of the staff because they were so friendly. They taught me some Greek! Special mention to all the very helpful women on front desk. To the waiters Ilias and Marios. Even the lifeguards were super friendly, relaxed and wanted to chat. The rooms are spotlessly clean and if you want a great one I recommend staying in 720 which is in the new complex (Imperial) by the quieter pool. I would recommend this for a couple or an older family. I think kids 3-9 might find it a bit boring as no kids club or games room but there is plenty for them to do on the strip nearby like mini golf etc. They have good parking and close to chania. The beach is right on terrace with breakfast. Fantastic. I may very well come again even though they say never to try and go on the same wonderful holiday twice.

No alcohol gel around buffet

Outstanding breakfast buffet with tables indoors and outdoors for choice. Wide range of foods that seemed to suit most guests and early breakfast for those setting off early for a Gorge walk or the airport. Plenty of pools to choose from but needed more accessible showers for guests to wash off sun cream before a swim. Sunbeds were a decent height. Pool towels available from 1000 - 1800. Choice of grass or hard standing areas. Access to pool bar / Italian restaurant one side of the complex and the other Imperial side had pool and beach - again with restaurants. Lift down to WC on this site. Bar staff came round with orders of freddo cappuccino / beer/ fruit drinks as ordered from the QR code on the parasol. On site parking available. Staff everywhere were amazing. Musical entertainment each evening and themed buffets. On site mini shop.

More parasols perhaps. Easier access to WC for the less mobile guests. We had an interconnecting door in our room and it reduced our privacy a bit - we could hear the occupants talking / TV channels etc

All facilities are excellent, helpful staff, nice breakfast and lunch, clean and spacious rooms, nice pool

Capsules of coffee for the room should not be charged, and water bottles are not so expensive for the price charged and would be helpful

Beautifully kept environment, friendly and accommodating staff, ample parking, delicious breakfast

Would have a preferred to be closer to the town.
