Malisa Villa Suites - SHA Extra Plus

The property itself is beautiful, peaceful, upscale, and thoughtfully designed. The villas are spacious, and we never felt cramped at any point. Everything was clean, well maintained, and housekeeping was prompt and efficient. The location is a major plus. It’s just a short 5 minute walk to Kata Beach, which makes it very convenient

The staff are polite and nice, but the overall experience feels quite rigid. There seems to be very little flexibility or discretion given to handle guest situations. We arrived on a red-eye international flight with two tired children (12 and 9) and requested an early check in. While I can’t say for certain whether the property was fully booked, the request was declined and we were directed to a waiting area. Since early check-in wasn’t possible, I asked if we could have breakfast that morning and skip it on the last day (we had a 5 AM checkout). This is a fairly common and practical accommodation in many five-star hotels, especially when traveling with kids. However, this request was also declined, with the only option being a packed breakfast for the day we were leaving. While all of this was handled politely, the lack of flexibility stood out and felt beneath what I would expect from a premium resort
