"I will go back sometime."

10.0

Stayed here before it's just as I remembered. There are a few more rules now, but not bad. The pools are great for my arthritis! River walk, city park, and restaurants close by.

Classic roast coffee is too weak. I prefer dark roast.

"Hot soak no spirit!"

5.0

The room was very clean and kept up

From the front it was not inviting and looked rather dumpy. The ground inside were better. Room small but rustic charm. The hot mineral tub felt good, but there was nothing esthetic to relax. Murals or something with lights or something to make it attractive? The hot tub was in the back in the corner. Simply a clean concrete square, secluded and not attractive. The smell was strong and I couldn’t wait to shower. Next time I’ll be looking for something with a relaxing environment to enjoy while I soak.

"Disappointing experience - not what we were expecting - especially no shade around the main pool"

6.0

We booked 2 nights over the last May weekend. The motel is well located and is a short walk to the shops, bars and restaurants in Pagosa Springs and opposite The Springs Resort (see below). The room size was good and the 2 queen beds and pillows were comfortable.

We felt that the motel was rather dated and wasn't what we hoped for in a number ways, especially given the "high" room rate which allowed access to the pool and hot tubs. The room was advertised as having a balcony and an inner courtyard view. Our room (18 had) a table and 2 chairs outside on a communal walkway and one of the plastic strands on one of the chair seats was broken. The view from our room was across the car park and yes, there was a central "garden" area, but it was hardly an inner courtyard view. The aircon was very noisy, the lighting wasn't great and the wifi was inconsistent and often poor. We had hoped to use the Healing Waters pool etc but there was no shade for most of the day and no parasols provided and, as my wife cannot sit out in the sun for any prolonged period, we decided to pay for a day pass at The Springs Resort opposite which was much more modern, had numerous external hot pools and lots of parasols. I mentioned the absence of parasols to a lady on the front desk and she said that a number of other guests had made similar comments. She said that they hoped to provide the parasols very soon. Point to note - there is a 2 year road work programme currently in progress along the main road in Pagosa Springs which restricts access to many of the shops/restaurants and impacts the views of the town.

"All in all a good value if you're only looking a soaking in the hot springs."

The soaking pools where great.

The facilities are a little neglected. With a little work, this could be a great place to stay.

"Very poor"

Hot Springs

Dingy Dark Rooms, no hot water, only luke-warm, no freezer. Extremely poor lighting - cannot read without a flashlight. No pure water unless you buy bottles. This place is better than the Disneyland waterpark next door...

"Sulfur hot springs, great variety, old fashioned in best way"

9.0

Three temperatures in the pools/hot tubs so lots of choice and also a small sauna. Very clean rooms and yard. It reminded me of Kirishima small town and rural onsen or 1950s US resorts. Sulfur springs and casual but clean vibe. Staff very friendly. Towels readily available. Family friendly and also fine for those who want to soak without kids around. Firm beds if you like that. Spacious rooms for two queens. We liked patio and quiet at night. Nice space. Big fridge with small freezer space. Shower room tight but works fine. Moderate but good water pressure. Good oatmeal scrub bar soap along with liquid soap. I think it would be great for a couple on weekend or stopping in for brief soak. Parking was free. We couldn't get space right in front of our room so it seemed there were extra vehicles, maybe two per room in some case, but we parked 20 feet away so not a big deal at all.

Nothing bad at all. We did smell pot from inside our room which is probably typical for Colorado but annoying. However it only lasted about 15 minutes and then cleared off so smoker must have moved on. There were no screens on door and window couldn't open so we needed to use AC at night to cool the room even though it got cooler outside and we would have usually liked to open the window. And maybe a fluke but in my case four couples were using the middle and perfectly temperatures hot tub for most of the night so couldn't really use it. They seemed to be having fun together and ones could fit in but it would have been awkward. Sort of miss the quiet soaking of some places and where people move on after 15-20 minutes. That hot tub is the smallest of them and probably the most popular temperature so I almost wished time limit encouraged or extra tub put in. Don't want to squeeze in between a party. As a result I did brief dips in the 110+ tub and the cool 93 pool but missed on the longer soak in the 103 range tub. Also if you are the type who wants modern fancy spaces this isn't for you. I loved the vibe but it's very homey and bare concrete, etc. Again, think rural Japan. Can't find any flaw with service or facilities.
