Once Upon The River, Aluva - Near Cochin International Airport

I liked the beauty of the gardens with bungalows nestled in the tropical surroundings. The rooms were large and confortable and the staff very helpful.

It was difficult to understand the airport pick up arrangements! We were asked to call a number in India the day before we were leaving Australia. Never understood why!

Aujourd’hui les prix ont beaucoup augmenté, presque doublé passant de 40€ avec petit déjeuner à 70€ sans petit déjeuner pour la même chambre. Alors que nous arrivons dans la morte saison ( beaucoup plus chaud) Est-ce la situation avec les pays du golfe ?

Very pleasant atmosphere, with rooms dispersed around well-kept gardens. Two pools, decent restaurant and v friendly staff.

Mosquitoes! But they're everywhere anyway and a good repellent works.

In dem Bungalow hat es an nichts gefehlt: groß und geräumig, tolle Ausstattung. Sehr gutes W-LAN. Alles sauber und gepflegt.

Der Bungalow hat einen eigenen Pool. Leider ist das Wasser trübe und daher wenig einladend. Das Wasser im größeren Allgemein-Pool war klar.

We stayed here as a transit stop for our flight out of Kochi. The location is perfect - 15 minutes away from both the train station (Aluva) and the Airport. Food is fresh and excellent, particularly the seafood. Staff are very warm and helpful. Despite being so central, it is a bit tucked away inside a large compound, so it is quiet and peacefull as well. Lovely little swimming pool, and a games room to while away your time.

Breakfast was basic. Limited options, especially if you want a continental style breakfast, but it is perfectly adequate. Linen and towels look a bit tired, but are very clean.

15 minutes from airport, with complimentary transfer. Large, clean, comfortable room. Peaceful, extensive gardens and two swimming pools. Excellent value for money.

The setting was very pleasant with lots of greenery but close to the airport. The staff were very pleasant, the food in the restaurant was very tasty.

The towels were stained and grey. One bath towel I discarded and didn't want to use. The swimming pool had hundreds of tiny tiles missing along the edges which looked very tatty.
