Staying at The Mudhouse was nothing short of transformative. Tucked away in the lush embrace of Munnar’s hills, this eco-friendly haven felt like stepping into a living prayer — where nature, intention, and hospitality converge in perfect harmony. From the moment we arrived, the energy of the place wrapped around us like a warm breeze. The accommodation was earthy and elegant, designed with deep respect for the land. The gardens were a sensory delight — vibrant, fragrant, and lovingly tended. Every corner whispered care. But what truly elevated the experience was the people. The staff and owners radiated warmth and authenticity, making us feel not just welcomed, but deeply seen. Their kindness was woven into every interaction, every detail. This wasn’t just a stay — it was a remembering. Of how travel can be sacred, how places can hold you, and how beauty lives in simplicity. The Mudhouse is one of my absolute favourite places on Earth, and I carry its spirit with me still. I hope the winds guide me back one day.

No negatives

Best resort experience so far. Great people, super luxurious, had the best time. The food was amazing, the staff treated us like family, location is great (just a bit far from Kochi), people are helpful and go out of the way to make you feel comfortable. The spa services are great too. The bed / toiletries / towels are super luxurious, lighting was perfect, couldn't have asked for a better experience.

The door hinge was a bit squeaky, but it's a very minor detail.

I highly recommend staying at Mudhouse Marayoor - we wish we stayed longer! The rooms are beautiful and the food was incredible. The staff are lovely. There are great walks to take from the property and lots of birds to see.

The spa wasn't operating when we went.
