The food was good a good variety

The room was in terrible condition — it had a strong moldy smell, and even after informing the staff, nothing was done to help. When we complained while checking out, they offered a discount, but that’s not the point — health comes first. The mold in the room can be dangerous, especially for children. This was definitely a three-star experience, not five-star as advertised. Truly pathetic service that spoiled our last two days in Sri Lanka.

Lovely location on the beach, although the red flags indicated unsafe for swimming. Rooms were reasonably spacious with a nice little balcony. The staff were very attentive and friendly.....always willing to assist and provide an excellent service. Very close (walking distance) to some lovely little restaurants - also those within other nearby resorts

The breakfast room was a little overcrowded with extra space in some outdoor marquee's. Some areas are currently under renovation - so this could be possibly addressed in the future. Also due to the humidity, we did have some mould - fungi sprouting in a corner of the shower on our last day - so probably a recommenation that the corners of showers when cleaning also need to be done.

Clean beach having 3 different accesses, each one with stunning views. Surfing options were available, We enjoyed surfing a lot. Good Vegetarian Food after so many days in Sri Lanka. Courteous and always helpful staff.

We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Taj Bentota in a beautiful sea-facing room, which made our holiday feel extra special. The hotel also offers great amenities — we had access to the sauna, and even joined in some fun activities like face painting, which we thoroughly enjoyed. A true highlight was the amazing hospitality of Chef Jasvir Singh and his team at breakfast. We were served piping hot dosas of different varieties right at our table, along with delicious aloo paranthas that instantly reminded us of home in Delhi. The warmth of the chef and team, and our lovely chats with them, made this such a memorable experience. During dinner, Chef Dilip Parihar went above and beyond to look after us. He prepared special off-the-menu dishes to cater to our pure vegetarian preferences. The double tadka dal with steaming hot phulkas was simply outstanding and truly made our day. Our room was beautifully decorated by Gayan, who welcomed us with the cutest elephant towel art that immediately put a smile on our faces. The thoughtful touches and attention to detail throughout our stay made us feel completely relaxed and cared for. From the delicious food to the warm staff and stunning sea views, everything exceeded our expectations and truly became a high point of our Sri Lanka trip. We left with full tummies and full hearts and will definitely return to Taj Bentota on our next holiday in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended!
