Taj Bentota Resort & Spa

Gorgeous place and wonderful staff. All of the staff that we met were so friendly, warm and welcoming, whilst all working exceptionally hard. The hotel was immaculate and the service was great. A special shout-out to the head chef (sorry we didn't get your name) who cooked us a special birthday meal on the beach and Rujowan (apologies if I've spelt that wrong) the waiting on staff. Also Harsha our housekeeper made such an effort to make the trip extra special for our honeymoon and my birthday! Thank you!!!! I hope that we can visit again in the future!!

The room smelt very damp. Although the bed linen and pillows were very clean, they had not seen any sun and everything smelt very damp. The dampness smell hits you the moment you enter the room. Plus there was major renovation going on and the dining area was a temporary shed like a Circus tent. This was not informed or mentioned during the booking process. Staff were helpful like all Taj staff but a smiling face does not make a great Hotel. Not worth the stay at that price.

The room next to mine was under renovation. Access to my room was not clean. Atleast, they should have given discount on the room tariff.
