Bobocha Siladen Boutique Resort

This was my second time staying at Bobocha Resort, and once again, it was an unforgettable experience. Where to start?? Should we begin with how breathtakingly beautiful this island is… the clarity of the water, the calm serenity of the beach, the spectacular and healthy coral reef just steps from shore? Or should we start with how genuinely friendly and helpful the staff is—how absolutely welcoming Sarah and her wonderful team are, making every guest feel like family? Should we begin with the food—rich, flavorful, and diverse—where every meal was a celebration of culture and taste? Or maybe with the sunsets, which came each evening like an explosion of color across the sky? What about the snorkeling—an experience as magical as it was unforgettable—or the professionalism and warmth of the boat and dive operators? Every day felt like a gift, wrapped in beauty, kindness, and adventure. The dining table was a place of connection, where people from all over the world came together, bound by a shared love for nature and exploration. This place is truly unique, truly magical. And if there’s only one thing we can tell you, it’s this: Go there!

Every detail is very well taken care of with a remarkable attention to sustainability. Food is very good and fresh. Even if you don't choose your dishes there's a great variety and they accommodate any need. Having meals on the beach is priceless. Their diving team is excellent and very knowledgeable. We truly recommend them for their service, attention to safety, and bright smiles. Sarah, Andrew, and the team are great hosts.

Bobocha Siladen was rustic yet did a great job at providing an enjoyable and relaxing stay: - beautiful location on the best beach around with gorgeous sunset views and space to relax and take meals - the beach is quite sandy to swim and then go a few metres further out and its beautiful coral to snorkel - friendly atmosphere from all the staff, locals and other guests - tasty homecooked food that made us feel very good (not too greasy or processed) - well appointed beachside rooms with private balconies to relax on - excellent dive team that are safe and super accommodating to your needs - swimming pool to relax in or cool off

just something to keep in mind - there is no electricity during the day so it can get a little hot - luckily it is easy to cool off in the sea or pool

It was raining when we set off from Manado Harbour on a chartered local fishing boat (the accommodation offers transfers from another jetty at Tiwoho) and we were dreading the prospects of lugging our luggage from the jetty in the rain. We were surprised that the boat took us directly o the beach that was literally right at the doorstep of our villa! The ambience felt secure and we could leave valuables discreetly in the room without locking doors, which otherwise, would have made holding keys inconvenient when on a snorkelling/diving/beach holiday. The meals included in the Full Board were delicious. Generous portions of meats and fish. Salads were varied. Even the plating was aesthetically impressive. Dining with fellow guests felt like a gathering of friends over a Christmas dinner. Fabulous! You can choose to have a quiet time sunbathing on the beach, having a drink and watching the sunset or engaging in a frenzy of activities. We chose the latter. Staff were friendly and prompt with arrangements for boat trips to Bunaken, dolphin watching, night snorkelling and a Balinese massage. After checking out Bunaken, we definitely prefer quieter Siladen. We are most grateful to a very understanding Sarah, the owner of Bobocha Siladen, who allowed us to bring forward our check-in by a day after we realised that our scheduled stay was a day longer than out scheduled flight home. Andrew delivered on the trip arrangements and he was lovely company during our dolphin watching trip. Just when we were about to give up on our hunt for dolphins, Andreas spotted the first pod. We were lucky to have encountered several pods of dolphins who gave us a fantastic aerial display of spins, somersaults and jumps. Andreas has sharp eyes in the sea both in the day and night. Spotting more unusual or well camouflaged species such as the stone fish, porcupine fish, sea spiders, octopus etc was a treat.

Small matter but some of the hinges/locks on the window shutters and glass windows did not align or were missing. It was a challenge closing them on one stormy night. Thankfully, no glass window shattered in the wet and windy conditions.

This place was amazing. We went there for diving and the experience was excellent. The guides on the dive were fabulous and the places they took us to dive were spectacular. What impressed me was the safety, the dive team take safety very seriously. A novice diver, I became so much more confident. Oh and the food was fantastic.

We recently stayed at this hotel and enjoyed some positive aspects. The house reef is absolutely beautiful, and the beach is well-maintained and clean. The food was also quite tasty, and the staff tried their best to make our stay pleasant, though there were a few issues with the overall experience. Unfortunately, we found the atmosphere to be a bit strange and unwelcoming. The staff seemed distant at times, almost as though they were unsure how to interact with guests. We noticed that when staff members were not busy raking the beach,  they were often hard to find when we needed assistance, which left us feeling a bit disconnected. Another downside was the pricing, which felt excessive for some services, particularly things like boat transfers and a rushed 10-min dive refresher for the price of a full dive. On Sundays, when the public boat service isn’t available, the hotel seemed to take advantage of the lack of alternatives by charging insane rates for transfers to the mainland. To make matters worse, when we were leaving, one staff member attempted to convince us to cancel our Grab ride in favor of a much more expensive taxi from his personal contact. This left us with a bad impression. Despite these issues, we still appreciated the beautiful location and the hard work of the staff. However, we left feeling that the experience was overpriced for what we received. It didn’t quite live up to the warm and welcoming Indonesian hospitality we've come to cherish, and unfortunately, we felt as though we were being treated more like walking wallets than valued guests.

Wished that there were more drink options such as juices, and also some cakes or something for tea/dessert. We also didn't realise that there was no electricity in the day before booking. Perhaps this could be made clearer in the hotel's description
