Jonathan Spa Estate

Overall had a wonderful experience. The first day administrator was exceptionally helpful and nice, making us feel very welcome. Our room was beautiful, with all the amenities we needed, and even more. The spa zone was clean and exactly as advertised on the website, providing a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The surroundings are peaceful and close to nature, perfect for a getaway. The on-site restaurant, while priced similarly to high-end places in Riga and possibly a bit overpriced, served tasty food. The breakfast was hearty and delicious, a great way to start the day and the waiter was very forthcoming, as we have messed up our order. We would definitely come again.

We did encounter a slight issue with the spa zone; despite being advertised as opening at 9 AM, the saunas were only turned on after our request when we arrived a bit after 9. Additionally, the worker on duty did not know how to turn on the steam sauna. However, this was a minor drawback in an otherwise excellent stay.

The place is truly a gem. You won't find anything like it in Latvia. With unique small rivers and reservoirs everywhere, you can walk through them on beautifully built wooden bridges and trails. It would be great to see more of these in the future. The building is well-equipped with everything you need, and if you require anything else, the friendly staff are always available to help. The SPA area is fantastic, featuring a nice swimming pool with an excellent view. There is one steam room (either Turkish or Finnish, not sure), and another classic one that was closed at the time of our visit. The restaurant serves excellent food—we had the sirloin beef steak, and it was really good. We stayed in a LUX room, which was nice and clean with a big window overlooking the lake. It would be cool to have a bath as we expected that.

The air conditioner didn't cool the temperature at all, and the bed mattress was too soft for us. Additionally, we wanted to have a drink in the SPA, but the call button wasn't working, and no one came. However, these issues did not ruin the overall experience; everything else was just great.

We enjoyed the beautiful view from the room. The hotel area was quiet and nice. Breakfast was very delicious and there was plenty of choice given. Staff was very friendly. As to spa area, we enjoyed it.

Some small details were missing in the room, for example, in the bedroom there was no place where to hang clothes. We would have liked a bit higher sink in the bathroom. As for the shower, it was a bit messy with shower curtains that let the water run out of the shower.
