Islander Beach Resort - New Smyrna Beach

I recently stayed at Islander Beach Resort for a week long solo vacation and I absolutely fell in love with this resort! The property is beautiful, the room is clean, the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the resort amenities were plentiful. I certainly will book again and I highly recommend this resort.

The facility was used for the wedding of an old friend's daughter. The site was fantastic, with the beautiful sunset, the pathway and lawn approach to the gazabo setting. The hotel was booked for the event with several rooms available.

A bit windy...as if you could do anything about it! Parking was a minor issue covered by the construction across the street. Recommend arranging for additional parking for special events.

Great location on the beach near wonderful restaurants and anything else you could want.

Our room had a few small issues that could have been addressed and would have made the trip perfect. Nothing that was a deal breaker but things that were inconvenient like the AC kept the corner carpet soaking wet. The fan in the bathroom was super loud(roaring) and it came on with the light so if you went to the restroom at night you woke everyone up.

As with all of these older beachfront resorts, updating and maintenance is key. They are doing OK at the Islander. It is clean, and the grounds are in good shape (I'm sure it's not easy after all these years). Our unit was spacious and clean, and everything was functioning properly, if not in mint condition. If the point requirements and fees stay reasonable, we'll look to stay here again.

pool was great. Staff was fine.

Interior hotel needs freshening up. Looks old and worn. We thought we were booking a hotel but it is really a time share place with rooms rented occasionally. Therefore, many of the expected amenities, like shampoo and conditioner were not provided.
