EKHO Lake House - From Colonial Bungalow to Royal Retreat

Staff were fabulous - Xmas gala was nicely organised by the staff. Village children carol was a highlight. Beautiful location setting on the banks of Parakrama samudra ( sea is samudra). Sunset not to missed- stone throwing distance from world heritage ruins. Perfect location to relax and winding. Food was great and worth for the money. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay . Thank you team for memorable experience

We only stayed the one night and our room was very clean and in good condition. Nice to have carpet under the feet again. The shower was good and hot and the bathroom overall a good size. Bed very comfortable and a lovely view of the lake. The food was a step up from another Ekho however they too need staff training with timing of food coming out etc. ie. service slow and mains not coming out at the same time. Overall a lovely friendly team of people.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel positioned right on the lake. The staff are extremely friendly and were very helpful. We would especially like to thank Suresh the guest service manager who was very helpful with sorting out initial issues we had at the hotel. Ms Buddini is the friendly receptionist who always was helpful in her manner. The dining and bar staff Saduni and Nishani were very friendly and helpful with their service, and finally Supun was always at hand to show us elephants in the lake or particular birds. Thank you for making our stay a special experience.

I would recommend to book the bedrooms on the far lakeside rather than roadside lake as the sunsets are stunning from these rooms.

- sheets never changed (+ never asked if I wanted them changed) - soap not replaced - carpeted floors never vacuumed - no place in shower for toiletries (ceramic bottles dangerous) - chipped plates, soap dish - food options too limited - loud aircon exhaust outside room making sit on veranda unappealing
