EKHO Lake House - From Colonial Bungalow to Royal Retreat

Ein wunderschönes Hotel im englischen Stil, direkt am See gelegen. Unser Zimmer hatte direkten Seeblick, zum Infinity Pool waren es nur ein paar Schritte. Das Zimmer war groß und nett eingerichtet, mit einem großen bequemen Doppelbett. Bad und sanitäre Einrichtung waren modern und sehr sauber Am Frühstück und auch am Abendessen gab es nichts auszusetzen, alles war sehr lecker. Das Personal war, wie immer in Sri Lanka sehr freundlich und ungemein hilfsbereit. Leider waren wir nur eine Nacht dort, wenn es sich wieder ergeben sollte, dann bestimmt gerne länger.

Beautiful hotel, excellent location overlooking the lake and very close to the archaeology museum. Spacious comfortable room( overlooking the lake), delicious Sri Lankan breakfast and amazing view from the restaurant almost over the lake, very caring welcome ( from Buddini from reception).

L’emplacement, la chambre ( nous avons été surclassés), la gentillesse du personnel (en particulier Kisho qui s’est occupé de nous de façon très efficace et avec beaucoup d’attention).

We stayede here for 2 nights. The rooms a very lovely and clean and our had view of the lake. The hotel is small but very well staffed - all the staff was very nice and helpfull. From the restaurant there is a lovely view off the lake. There is a small infinity pool and pool towels. The food is all a la carte and very well tasting. The price is a bit high but the hotel is also in the high end regarding price. We unfortunately had booked a room with no food on hotels.com so the lovely breakfast was 3500 lkr/person/night (there is a big meny to choose from and the price the same no matter what you order). The dinner is app 4-6.000 pr person so it might had been better to book directly - but check as cancellation rules may differ. Overwall we had a wounderfull stay with exceptional location and tasty food.

The hotel was ideally located on the lake shore as well walking distance from the Polonnaruwa historical site. The top notch staff, especially Suresh and Baddini, arranged a tuk-tuk with a knowledgable driver that made the visit to the ancient exceptional. The serene, clean, room had all the amenities and breakfast was a highlight of our trip. Finally, Suresh was able to book an experienced driver and private car transportation to Haputale at a very reasonable price.

Beautiful boutique hotel with Great Lake views. Rooms were big and bathrooms were large with lots of room for toiletries. We loved the views from room because it was facing the lake. We had a delicious welcome drink and a quick shoulder massage while waiting to check in. The entire staff there made our stay so special. They were all accommodating and eager to help when needed. We had a few meals that was so delicious. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. We loved being waited by them and the service they gave us. They made us feel so special. This Boutique hotel was clean from rooms, restaurant and the grounds. It’s a quiet and peaceful place to relax. Great place to stay for the price. Very reasonable for where it’s located and the views. I would like to thank the entire staff for all the help with our luggage, showing us your beautiful place and for making us feel so welcomed and special. I look forward to seeing them again in the future.

Wonderful location and staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent.

Beautiful setting by the lake. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were very good. We did the early morning canoe trip which was very serene, unfortunately we didn’t see any elephants, but did see lots of birds. Nice pool overlooking the lake.
