"Lovely for a quiet holiday"

8.0

Lovely clean hotel and grounds. We were half board and thoroughly enjoyed the variety on offer for breakfast and dinner. We could purchase snacks from the pool bar at lunchtime., which were adequate for us. Apartment was mid way between main hotel and pool and beach. Great kids pool , which we didn't use, but plenty of slides, splash things. There is also a kids club inside. The main pool had a small sectioned off kids pool too. The life guard was good at keeping the noisy splashing families disturbing others. The guard didn't come on duty til 10am and you weren't allowed to use the pool before then. It's a shame because some of the better swimmers wanted to put in a few lengths before it got busy. Mosquitoes were rife about 9 and lots of people got bitten. Entertainment wasn't upto much. Kids disco overnight 8.30 til 9. 2 young girls doing the moves and the kids copying, but same songs in a different order every night. Couldn't always hear the guy announcing things. There was a quiz, bingo and some Greek dancing but no band with them. There was a guy playing a guitar and lady singing playing the electric organ, but the songs all sounded the same ! The hotel provides a free minibus ride to Nea Potidea 2x a week, lovely beach there, and then to Nea moundania 3 x a week, clothes shops and marina . It's for 3 hours each. Always plenty of sunbeds around the pool, but no umbrellas, so for shade you had to sit at the tables behind, the grass part had umbrellas as did the sandy part and the beach had rush shades. Always spare ones. Lovely walks either way along the beach. If you want a nice quiet break this is the hotel, but if you're looking for night life , maybe not. We had to ask for a kettle and cups for the room, which was FOC, 15 euro for safe. Fridge in the room. We enjoyed our week

"No entertainment of any sort"

2.0

If you would like to do anything else at the hotel other than just sunbathing, if you are expecting any sort of entertainment please don’t go here, the animation team is non existent, no daytime entertainment (there was a dart board and 1 yoga session on a tiny patch of sloppy grass near a walkway , behind some bushes but I would not call that entertainment) evening program was shockingly poor level and not entertaining at all ! We were exhausted after this holiday after trying to entertain our children all week somehow . Rude staff , very small hotel , poor food selection just not good at all , definitely not a 4star hotel , very dated, do not recommend

"Beautiful place"

8.0

What a beautiful place. We went as a family of 6. 4 adults , 2 children age 5 & 2. Hotel is clean and lovely. Our room was perfect location. Beach is beautiful. Food is delicious. Water slides are fantastic. The entertainment is a little poor and boring but tbh with 2 young children we didn’t stay out long so it was fine for us. We will definitely be returning.

"Not much to complain about, but not much to rave about either"

6.0

The short review - All in all, it's not a bad hotel and we don't regret booking it. I think it's pushing its 4* status and realistically it's more of a very good 3*. The long review... Rooms - There is a €70 room tax per room. Not the cleanest or highest standard of rooms but certainly not the worst we've seen either. A few stray hairs, bits of fluff and a dead bug or two on the floor when we checked in. A couple of spiders in the corner of the ceiling. Maybe the cleaning team don't get enough time to do a thorough job? Didn't have any issues with damp or a musty smell however, as you may have read in some reviews. Bedding was clean, our beds were firm (as mentioned in other reviews) but I quite liked that. We had family staying in another room and their bed was super soft, so I guess its just luck of the draw. The pillows were either too soft (just one) or two high (with two) but you can't please everyone when it comes to pillows! The rooms were big enough for four of us (2 adults and 2 kids) to move around and lay clothes out etc. Not a lot of hanging space if you're bringing smart clothes however. The air con unit looked brand new in our room and it was working perfectly, really appreciated being cooled down on an evening. Bathroom - It was clean enough but we had issues with the towel rail being broken, the shower rail falling down, and the shower flooding the floor. Reception were prompt at fixing the issues when we raised them though. The bathtubs are quite small and not really functional for either a bath, or a shower (they are over bath showers). The bathrooms are definitely the biggest let down in the room. Ants and other wildlife - You may have read about ants in other reviews. Yes, there is a bit of an ants problem. When we arrived there was a deluge of tiny ants swarming around reception. It various places around the hotel ground there were groups of bigger ants. But, importantly and thankfully however, didn't see any near the pool, eating areas or in the rooms. Unfortunately we did have a few creepy crawly visitors in the room including a millipede , a few earwigs, couple of big moths. I suppose it comes with the territory though. Food - I saw some reviews complaining about lack of variety and also not enough traditional Greek food. My response to both , is that isn't the case. Both plenty of variety and a lot of what I would consider Greek dishes on offer. What you wont get is a lot of variety of "British" dishes. However, there were some simple foods on offer at every meal including chips, pasta & sauce, bread etc. Desserts were not a strong point, very repetitive (really it was the same base cake on offer every night just decorated differently). You can help yourself at the pool bar to hotdogs, hamburgers and pizza slices. You can also help yourself to ice cream at the pool bar all day and theres a good selection of flavours. Generally, found the food relatively good quality for buffet/all inclusive food. We never went hungry. Drinks (all inclusive) - Not a super varied menu of all inclusive drinks. You're not getting top shelf brands. But again, enough variety so there was something for everyone. There's three cocktails included on the all inclusive and the "San Fransico" can be made alcohol-free for the kids. Coffee is available at the pool bar all day. Pools - The pool area was tiled, and nice and clean. There are two pools including the shallow splash pool with slides , and the bigger pool that is shallow enough at one side for little ones to stand up, and deeper at the other side to swim if you wish. Plenty of sunbeds , lots of space in the sun if you want it, and shaded seating areas. Not enough parasols but apparently some were broken in some recent bad weather so they may get replaced before high season. Shuttle - The location of the hotel is quite remote if youre the type that likes a wander out during the day. There's a free shuttle bus that runs Mon to Fri, twice a day, to either Nea Potidea or Nea Moudania. You get three and half hours before the shuttle takes you back to the hotel. We only went to Nea Moudania and it was long enough for a look in a few shops and to get some food. It's not very big so you dont need any longer there. Entertainment - We visited out of season (May half term) and there was very little day time entertainment. The evening entertainment consists of a mini disco at 830pm (which we found a little late for us) and then either live music or a quiz. Entertainment happens at the pool bar unless it rains and then it moves to the main bar. When this happens, chaos happens. There's not enough room for all the hotel guests in the main bar and theres nowhere else to go nearby so people just cram in. We ended up back in the room that night. There's a kids club that operates daily which we didn't use so can't comment on. Gym - We had intended to use the gym and had a look on our first day. The equipment was old and not well maintained. There didn't seem to be air conditioning in the room either. We opted not to bother, so can't comment any further. Spa - The spa must have been quiet for business the week we stayed as the staff were out at the poolside offering free massages and promoting the other services on offer. We felt it was a bit pricey so didn't use it, therefore can't comment any further. Water sports - There's a hut next to the kids club that offers various boats (paddle boats, canoes etc) at really good prices. If you're staying all inclusive at the hotel, you can use the canoes or paddle boats for 30 minutes for free which was a nice bonus.

"Nice experience"

10.0

The hotel was very nice, I really liked the room - it was big, clean and cozy. The food was also amazing, very delicious and there was a great variety. We had a lot of fun with the animation team, there were activities for both children and adults, I was most impressed by the evening activities - the children had a lot of fun at the mini disco and then the program for adults was very interesting. The only thing I can complain about is the wifi, because it was really bad in our room.

"Honest review - it’s average"

6.0

I paid for this as a package holiday all inclusive and it was based off a 4* rating however having arrived the staff were very pleasant and greeted the children with a welcome gift. However I felt the rooms are extremely basic (and not like the images shown) and lack amenities. For example the wardrobe provided only is enough for one person’s belongings and no kettles etc. I have children who are fussy eaters and they struggled to eat here they provided the basic fries however beyond that it was local cuisine (just to make families aware). The food times are staggered as well so breakfast in the morning between 6-10, dinner 12-3 but lunch isn’t until 6pm so not around the clock service as in some establishments. The entertainment is very basic and isn’t aimed at children. In addition towels provided are only changes 2 days of the week (so I’d recommend bringing your own). The beach is lovely but it’s very small. The pools on site are also small (they look a lot bigger in the pictures)

"Lovely family hotel and excellent spa"

10.0

Lovely clean resort. Reception makes a good impression and the facilities are kept clean and tidy. Small gift shop but buses to town mon - fri. Good standard of meals, traditional Greek and typical western junk for kids. Nice little splash pool with fountains and slides for kiddies but our 9 year old is too old for that now so the larger pool suits best. All inclusive package covers pretty much everything but the 3 cocktails on offer were too sweet and sickly for us. Help yourself tea, coffee and ice cream all day. Lovely private beach and plenty of beds. My main interest was the spa, Levanda, and it did not disappoint. Superb, professional staff. A freebie neck, shoulder and back on the beach quickly pulls you into a recommended appointment and I had a 90 min Cretan treatment which was utterly fabulous. This was followed up by a 40 min treatment a few days later to finish clearing the tension in my neck and shoulders. Beautiful. Just beautiful. For that alone I would be back but there are lots of reasons to choose this place for a family holiday.
