Portes Beach Hotel

Pool and beach areas first class. Lounge areas and rooms comfortable. Location feels isolated. But the hotel badly let's itself down with the quality of the food. It is of a very, very poor quality and is never served hot. Choice is also limited. Met 10 couples during our stay and 8 of them ended up with sickness. The restaurant is like a staff canteen. Has so much potential but until they get the food situation sorted I would not consider returning. The animation team are simply awful .

Arrived yesterday. 27/09/2025. First impressions are friendly helpful staff on reception. Walking to our room the grounds are very nice and well kept. Ok so far. Gets in room and it has everything you need including a fridge. Room is clean although bedding had a blood stain on it. Bed itself very comfy. Although clean and has everything the room is a bit tired and could do with a freshen up. Our patio doors have been broken into with a crow bar at some point as they are damaged and awkward to lock. The toilet seat is loose and moves about and the first shower created black bits all over the bath from either the shower head or hose. Towels are clean but clearly been used many many times. So next the restaurant. Some staff friendly some a bit rude as they charge around. The food itself isn’t the best for evening meals. Let’s just say not the best quality. It was only our first night so wasn’t too put off. On to breakfast to redeem itself. Sadly not. Not the best cereal choice and the fruit was like out of date tinned fruit. Or dried fruit option. No fresh juicy fruit. Nectarine was bad and could have played cricket with the plums. Hot food wasn’t too bad and pancakes seemed a popular choice. The continental selection didn’t look too bad so I’ll probably try that in morning. Lunch time was better with a decent choice. Drinks; one choice of beer on draught and that is flat and weak. Coke is rola cola and also flat. Wine is ok in the reception bar but watery in the restaurant. Minimal choice on spirits ie: no flavoured gin other than 1 pink gin which isn’t included in the all inclusive. Pool and beach look ok but not tried either as weather not too good. Yep we’re unlucky this week but that’s no reflection on the hotel. Some people have said in their review that you have to pay for snacks in the pool bar. You do if you are not all inclusive but we are so it’s part of the package. Location is what it is but don’t expect to be able to walk anywhere. We hired a car from airport as we knew this before we came. Would we come again? Only been here a day but enough to say no. Shame really as we were expecting more, paid £1900 for 7 days. Have paid less and received better service and better quality food. Definitely not a 4 star hotel maybe 3 at a push . Again the weather can’t be helped but when it is bad and can’t sit in the sun then there is nothing to do and nowhere to go apart from sit and drink poor quality drinks. So we have decided to book a flight and return home early

Hotel was great, very comfortable bed & lovely gardens. Visited the spa, Stella was amazing. Very experienced & friendly, felt great afterwards, thank you Stella.

Worst 4* hotel I have ever stopped in, all inclusive but you have to pay for snacks at the pool bar. When the restaurant shuts after breakfast if you want a drink of any sort you have to walk to the pool bar 100 meters away. Most of the hotel staff were pleasant enough (no interaction) but others were just rude. Room was large and cleaned daily with fresh towels but no tea making faciliy very few sockets and tired decor. Very noisy at night and early morning someone was moving furniture every day at 10 pm and 7 am. Nothing to do outside of the hotel' no shops, restaurants or walks (just the beach) They advertise lots of shops and restaurants within 5 miles but they are all 5 miles away. Me and my wife stayed at portes beach hotel.The room was quite nice.Bathroom had a bath. Not a shower tray.was ok.Air con in room worked very well. Overall we were very happy with the hotel. The hotel was very clean ,cleaners came to room every day. Every morning you would see cleaners every where. All the staff were very polite,the cleaners reception staff,restaurant staff bar staff. The 4 girls at reception were very nice . Would like to thank Julia especially for all her advice. In the restaurant all the waitresses were so nice. You would never see a table with dirty plates on it for long.soon as you finished with a plate they would take it away. A specially thanks to Nicos and vicky who would make it a very pleasant experience When in restaurant and taverna. The food in the restaurant was excellent every night. We looked forward to dinner every day. Whist we were there there was alot of familys with toddlers so the beach in front of hotel got very busy..Beach is very nice and so is pool..They have a children's pool aswell. The hotel is on a dual carriageway,so there is nothing nearby.you cannot really walk anywhere You can get taxis but are a bit expensive. Best to hire a car if you like getting about. I think this hotel is great for familys with young children. Overall we had a great time here.

Beautiful spot right on the beach, but the kids club was what really stood out. The staff were so kind and fun – our kids became friends with Ovi, Mira, and Irina and loved spending time with them. They truly made our trip unforgettable! Their program was interesting and variable - music days, crafts and art, mini disco, movie night.
