"A Stunning Private Island with a Few "Rough Edges""
Excellent
8.0
If you’re looking for that exclusive "private island" vibe surrounded by wildlife and insane views, this is it. But, you have to be okay with a resort that has seen better days.
The Best Parts
The Views & Space: Being on a private island is incredible. It’s huge, so you can actually go for long walks and explore. We booked a Sea View room and it was the best decision we made—the view was 10/10.
The Room Size: Honestly, the room was massive. We had a super king bed and a bathroom that felt as big as the bedroom itself. It had double sinks, a huge tub, and separate areas for everything. Bonus points for having both a ceiling fan and AC.
The Staff (The heroes): The team here works so hard. I still remember the guy at the pool bar—it was scorching hot and he was out there for hours, drenched in sweat, but serving everyone with a genuine smile. They really make the place feel special.
Wildlife: If you like nature, you’ll love it here. We saw so many different birds and insects just walking around. It feels very "alive."
My Top Tips if You Book:
Watch the Clock: The boat schedule is a bit tricky. If you miss a boat, you might be stuck waiting for an hour or more. You can pay for a private boat "exception," but it’s easier to just plan your day around their timings.
Timing is Everything: A lot of the cool stuff (like the nature trails and the big buffet dinners) only happens on weekends. Since we were there mid-week, we missed out on those unless we wanted to pay extra to book them privately.
It’s Family Friendly: It’s a relaxing island, but don’t expect total silence. One morning there were about 16 kids in the pool at once, so it got pretty loud!
Final Verdict: Go for the nature, the views, and the lovely staff—just don’t expect a brand-new 5-star modern facility.
Maintenance Issues: As other reviews have mentioned, the place is definitely showing its age. It’s not just the style; it’s the upkeep. There were gaps in the window frames (which let bugs in), the pool sunbeds were pretty worn out, and the furniture in the lobby and restaurant has seen better days. A deep renovation is definitely needed.
Cleanliness: This was hit-or-miss. The towels—especially the ones by the pool—didn’t always look "spot clean," and the general upkeep of the common areas felt a little neglected.
The Balcony: I really wanted to love our balcony, but something sticky on the table attracted a swarm of mosquitoes. I tried spraying it down with repellent and asked the staff to help/swap it, but nothing really happened, so we couldn't actually sit out there and enjoy the view we paid for.
Hot Common Areas: Just a heads-up—the lobby and the restaurant don’t have air conditioning.
