Papaya Cottage Koh Chang

Peter (Swedish) and his wife Ao (Thai) as well as every single member of staff at Papaya Cottage are an absolute delight..a rare find indeed. After a super friendly & informative welcome, we were shown to a spotlessly clean bungalow. It was cleaned daily by the irrepressible Pooey. Set in a garden away from the road but close to the restaurant and supermarkets and a tranquil and picturesque walk to the beach along a sandy path. The beach here has good swimming, although some rocks and a few chilled bars Peter & staff helped us book a boat on to Koh Mak which so far, we don't like quite as much as Koh Chang. Good air con in bedroom although none in the rest of the bungalow. Good WiFi. Excellent Swedish coffee every morning as part of the deal... possibly the best coffee on the island??

Nothing but a couple of suggestions would include; more plug sockets in the bedroom and maybe some form of bedside lights for less harsh lighting. Maybe a washing up bowl so that one can separate washing dishes from the same area one washes hands and teeth as there is only one sink??

Felt like a home away from home. Staff was so nice, it was close to the water and loved the morning coffe giving the opportunity to chat with other guests.

Very nice owner and staff, great welcome and good-bye, room was cleaned every day

Basic huts but great cleanliness, personally we didn’t like the microfiber towels, but that’s just a minor point

Nice and cozy place, nice and quiet and nice owners. Very clean, nice patio, 5 min walk from a nice beach. A place I will recommend to others. Thank you for a great stay.
