Tahakopa Lodge - Cabin

I spent 5 days here. Quite country cabin in a beautiful garden setting. Most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The hosts Ray and Tanya were delightful. Spend some time with them and you will end up being part of the family.

Kitchen facilities a bit cramped.

Location was good

Didn't expect the bedroom &bathroom to be in separate buildings. The WiFi connection was intermittent.

We had a lovely stay in the cabin in Tahakopa, the space was comfortable, peaceful and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Our host Ray, kindly let us drop our luggage off early so we could spend the whole day exploring the gorgeous sites around Tahakopa. There are some flies near the cabin as it is beside farmland, however we were able to leave our door and windows open with the curtains shut in the evening while relaxing on the deck as well as the comfy couch in the cabin and no flies came in! We shut all windows before sleeping and the cabin stayed at an ideal temperature and with such a comfy bed we had a very good night's sleep. We were a bit confused by a previous negative review as the photos completely match the set up of the space and there is everything you need as a solo traveller or couple for a relaxing stay. We highly recommend this place!

Cabin was not a cabin on it`s own,, just part of an existing dwelling. Owner very intrusive. Location was acceptable.

Kitchenette/kitchenware facilities minimal. Microwave absent, as promised. Very cramped/untidy. Bathroom very cramped, shower unsafe with SS floor and no grab-handles, vanity unit and handbasin absent, toilet within 1M of kitchen sink thru a shonky ill-fitting door, and inadequate water supply to cistern. Had to use kitchen sink as handbasin. Poor hygiene in kitchen/bathroom/bedroom, all cramped and untidy. Queen bed in small room with inadequate room to easily access. Rodent droppings evident in bedroom. Owner absent upon arrival, despite arriving after official check-in time.
