Camping Pods, Carlton Meres Holiday Park

We had a really good experience staying in the camping pod. The pod itself was clean and comfortable inside. The shower and toilet area was also clean and not far from the pod, which was very convenient. The swimming pool was lovely, especially the outdoor pool. The site is very dog friendly and felt safe for young children to wander around and play within the park. Overall, a relaxing and family-friendly stay — we would happily come back again.

Pods are a little far from where u park , so had to do multiple trips as you can not drive up to your pod Shower and toilet block was ok , had to ask them to restock toilet roll and clean them after 2 days as no one had done it No one around at swimming , obviously they dont need to have lifeguard on duty , but it was a little harder to get into the pool area Need somesort of shelter up at the pods for cooking , if you stay and the weather is bad and you dont have a pop up gazebo there is no where to cook This is a card only site as well but was not made aware of this Shop closes when the reception closes , so you are unfortunately unable to get anything if you need it later on at night You can bring your dogs ,however you are not aloud into the main building with them (the bar) so have to sit outside which if fine if the weather is good not if its raining as there is no shelter you are also told that you can not leave you dog alone in your pods

Location was loverly quite during the mid week weekend little noisier

The toilets for the pod users was being used by fisherman and anyone that walked passed made them dirty and smelly the key to lock the door is a waste of time fob system wud work better with a door on a spring shut system

The pod area was very cute and I love the location it’s very quiet and peaceful, everything on the site is very accessible and the staff was lovely and friendly

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The pod accommodation was surprisingly spacious, very clean, and well laid out. The location was beautiful — right in front of the lake, with lovely views and a peaceful atmosphere. It felt relaxing and private, and the setting made the whole experience special. The staff were also wonderful throughout our stay, especially one of the ladies at reception who was heavily pregnant but still working with so much energy, kindness and professionalism. She genuinely made us feel welcome and handled everything with a smile — it really stood out and deserves recognition.

A few small negatives: the toiletries area/showers were quite far from the pod, and the facilities could feel a bit cramped . Other than that, the stay was comfortable and we would definitely consider returning

We loved staying in the camping pod, the beds were comfortable and the pod and the area quiet at night. It was lovely to wake up to birdsong every morning.
