Fantastic location and a lovely hut with everything we needed. It was really cosy with the stove and plenty of hot water after a very cold winter walk which was fantastic! There was everything we needed and enough space even in the winter when we couldn't go outside.

We loved everything about it can't wait to go back in the summer.

this was a joke. we ended up going home and not staying. We arrived to an unflushed toilet and wet seat that was clearly not cleaned from the last occupants. the welcome message said the first night's wood was provided, but we couldn't find any, so my husband rang the lady and was told they don't provide wood and she doesn't know where I got the impression they did from, when told about the toilet my husband felt she begrudgingly offered to "reclean it". We said no, we're leaving. To add insult to injury, a text later came through saying "my mistake we do provide wood". It completely ruined my husbands birthday night away. Not the cozy quaint night I had planned - no kettle (basic code/ tea facilities) - no towels Needs to warn people not to arrive in the dark!

Location is beautiful, in a quiet wooded valley....although I can imagine if the campsite is full in summer it might not be so quiet but still beautiful. The shepherd's hut is very well appointed for its size, plenty of hot water for the shower, good flush loo, little fridge (look under the bench) and a single gas ring. In summer, I can imagine that the provided outdoor cooking facilities would be fully used! We had read the reviews so were well prepared with our own towels and logs/kindling for the stove. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

The stove is smaller than our log burner at home, so make sure (if you stay in colder weather) that you have small kindling and small logs. The lighting is good, but a little "fierce" - it would be nice to have an option for softer lighting at night, especially in the winter (the star with the little lights only half works).
