Excellent staff and service. Surrounded by lake and forest, very peaceful atmosphere. Food was great.

An amazing, unique peaceful location with historic charm. Panoramic views of stunning gardens and lake. Friendly staff, fabulous food. I enjoyed watching the birds, langur monkeys, lizards etc whist lying on the hammock. A perfect and very special place, I felt privileged to stay at Lake Palace.

Lake Palace is an oasis of pure paradise. If it seems expensive, think what you'd get for 160 pounds in the UK - a middle-rung hotel. Here you are in a (formerly) royal lodge in the middle of a jungle reserve. The food - all local favourites - is spectacular. After an initial hiccup over how to pay (I thought they charged in advance, because that's what the booking form said, but they don't) it was just remarkable in every way. Get off the boat, sit on a garden seat overlooking the lake and the manager appears magically beside you bearing binoculars, so you can get a better view of the animals. That's service.

Very Peaceful. Definitely an 'away from it all' experience. Don't expect to see elephants (or tigers), you will see deer at a distance and the monkeys come to visit, which is amusing.

No Wifi, very little mobile signal. Food was OK, but no choice

Undoubtedly one of the best experience I just have enjoyed at Lakepalace, Thekkadi. The location of the property is something beyond explanation. The staff and the ambiences are double super. The behaviour and attitude of the staff were a heart touching!!! The property has an ancient and historical value. One may not get ultra luxury but 101% worth of your money.

Food should have been little more international tourist friendly. As eating heavily spiced dishes caused little discomfort. More salad should have been provided along with each meal. Kerala styled food could have been provided in different way ….

Location is awesome & staffs were polite and supportive. Only six rooms and gives you feeling of private stay.

Paid 21k, which is overpriced. 12-15k is the limit. Food was average for vegetarians. But staffs made sure to provide as much support as possible.

Complimentary boat trips were fantastic. Beautiful setting that overlooks a lakeside plain where deer often visit. Great food and beautiful historic building. Very peaceful and private.

I think you should make it known there are something like 60 steps up to the hotel from the landing stage. I found it difficult as I was recovering from a chest infection. Some people with mobility issues could struggle
