The setting of the resort is superb, with lots of houses and rooms around three lagoons, with a golf course and straight at the beach. The landscaping of the resort is beautiful and lush and very well kept. The check-in went smooth and we felt very welcome, although it was already late at night. We had a large room with balcony, overlooking the lagoon, with an excellent bed and a very comfortable bathroom with bathtub, separate rain shower and all with the modern amenities. Loved the breakfast buffet with five counters and a another with sweets and pastry, everything to die for. Lunch and diners in the resort are also of high quality. We loved the Italian restaurant and the service there, and also the Asian one - although the decoration and lighting of the latter wasn't very cosy. The lounge bar served some excellent cocktails, as did the pool bar. The pool is just wonderful, very clean and with incredible service (cushions, towels, drinks, cleaning...). We loved the beachside, as well with lovely sunbeds, excellent service and also very clean. The beachside bar and restaurant we can also recommend. The beach is lovely, clean and provides incredible sunsets. Special shout-out to the ladies that cleaned the paths and gardens daily, the people at the pool and Rohan at the officedesk. But every single employee of the St. Regis was exceptionally friendly, genuinely hospitable and really seemed to enjoy their job. The quality of service was exceptional. It made our stay even more unforgettable.

The airconditioning was set very cold, like 20°C, when it was 34°C outside. We asked, but couldn't find a way to fix that. But that is the case everywhere in India, the aircon is set too cold everywhere. During our stay a big tent was built for a wedding that took place there. The lawns were also taken by the different ceremonies, at night as well. November/December is wedding season in India, so there can be some noise and less tranquillity, although the hotel succeeded in separating the hotel guests from the wedding guests. But you should be aware of this.

Size, decor, very well equipped bedrooms, great mixture of plants across the whole estate

Other Restaurants could be more special in cuisine so not similar to the Miri cuisine style, bbq was on just one evening on the week we stayed - would be nice to have it available two nights per week. The welcome reception was overly intense for visitors arriving after a long journey ( in our case 18 hours) this could be spaced into two sessions where the assigned butler could have done intro in person rather than a message on WhatsApp.
